Has it been decided then that a new generation, generation VIII, has been decided upon, starting on January 1, 2007? It has been placed in the NESers by generation page, but not the NESer page. Is generation VIII official?

The latest generation was the flood that arrived with Domofuhrer. Check the starting of TBW NES, and that's it.

I'm adding some redirects, wondering who referred to me as mediocre (not that it's entirely unfair) in my wiki page, and writing an article for LINESII.

I was wondering, maybe adding interesting wars from NESes would be interesting enough to generate some reading material?

like do it in the wiki format of country, leader, troops, casualties, and then the main article being the lead up, tactics and aftermath

Those can go in once the NESes have their own threads.

What we need now is the base, don't build specialized things until they have a base somewhere.
