The new Joker (Jared Leto)

I can't imagine anyone doing it better then Jack Nicholson to be honest (despite the flaws that interpretation had) and just looking at it I am not very hopeful.

The character is completly dead to me.

Wait until he kills himself. Then he'll be remembered as a genius.

Was that an edgy comment about depression and suicide?

I read it is generally seen as a bad film :/ Not even the actors' body of work helped, eg Margot's :)

What would have helped would be making it _Captain Boomerang and the Suicide Squad_. Harley Quinn did not work as the locus of the film.

One of the many problems was that the characters weren't actually villains, but presented as people who've just gone astray and who really have hearts of gold...thus when it comes down to it they'll always do the right thing. So it wasn't actually Suicide Squad. Amanda Waller was the only real villain. Not even the "bad guy" they all fight comes across as bad as she does, especially because the way the movie was edited made their actions...inscrutable.

I enjoyed watching the movie once because it was big, bombastic, and fun, but it wasn't a Suicide Squad movie. Maybe when the R-rated cut comes out I'll give it another go.

Despite that, I actually didn't mind Jared Leto's Joker. The Joker is presented in a variety of ways in the comics. This was more "mob boss" Joker, which I didn't mind.

If you say so. Don't forget your fedora, though.

I don't even know what you're talking about as I don't live in meme-land, but it wasn't a comment, edgy or otherwise, about suicide or depression. I'm sure if you think hard you can work out what I was actually saying, even if you don't agree with it.

Gaiman's Joker is best Joker.

Oh, I worked it out alright. Heath Ledger (probably) committed suicide and his acting, especially his performance as the Joker, was all the more hailed afterwards. What else could your wry comment be about?

Either you're angling to be the edgy kid in the neighbourhood as usual (I remember the episode with the Confederate flag), or you're clueless. Either way it's not good for you.

Well if you worked it out, why did you ask me if it was a comment about depression and suicide? Why are you wasting my time by asking questions that you already know the answer to and talking about fedoras? I don't really care what you think is good for me as I regard you to be an imbecile for the most part, or at least to revel in portraying yourself as such.

Yup, so I was right, wasn't I? I guess this is pretty much the "You caught me and I have nothing else to say so I'll just insult you instead" post.

Really? 'Cause I thought they were all total jerks. Deadshot, for example, says he has never loved anyone. Which is an odd thing to say when his daughter is his emotional center. If he doesn't love her then I'm not sure how we could say he's being portrayed as a guy who lost his way.

Diablo is the one character that has something of a redemptive quality, but he's also the one characters with the self-awareness to know he's a total jerk.

Deadshot says that, but it's obvious it's not true, because Deadshot really has a heart of gold. They'll act like jerks, but underneath it all they'll do the right thing anyway.
