The new McDonnalds breakfast sundial

Wow, that's a lot better of an ad than the commercial they released recently about a married woman dreaming of cheating on her husband and abandoning her children to eat at McDonald's.

I already told her the "chicken feet" ad had to go and I think she got them to stop using that one.

Thank god, that one was horrible. Tell her to never make an ad with an alarm clock in it. It drives me to near homicide of anyone in a 15 ft. radius of where I am standing at that moment.

OK Godwyn. I will use you guys as my barometer for what you like and don't like. :D

So carry on everyone...

I wonder how much criticism about McDonald's food is actually about the food and not new-age neo-hippie anti-globalization nonsense.

It's certainly a unique ad, but I question whether it'll work. Of course, it's already gotten media attention, which may have been thier original intent.

I think they make the best fries in the industry (they still can't even come close to matching In-N-Out but but that's not a national chain).

Everything else they make is disgusting. I can't imagine people eating McD for breakfast. That certainly explains a lot.... *mandatory joke about pasty fat Midwesterners*

Ummm, semimonthly double burgers doesn't cause heart disease, silly.

What?!

This is a flamewar I don´t understand.
Well, if you don´t like fastfoods, just don´t eat there.
I am eating at McD or KFC restaurants when i have lack of time. It´s fast, warm and it gives you some energy.
If I want eat good food in confortable environment, there are definitely better places to go.

The sundial is very creative. I applaud the designer. :)

Also, McDonalds may be fattening, but who cares? As long as its tasty and you watch how much you eat. ...Unless you want to end up like the guy on Supersize Me. ;)

Agreed.

Makes me want to go eat there. (in a week or so)

That's a really good, creative ad! Never would expect that sort of thing from McDonald's. Seriously, whoever thought that up has a really good idea. Almost makes me want to go to McDonald's for breakfast one of these days. Alas, the only thing I actually like from McDonald's is their Bacon, Egg, and Cheese biscuit thing. And quite frankly, Hardee's has better BEC biscuits. Everything else is just "meh" for me, not even good junk food for the most part.

I've always preferred Arby's over any of the burger joints, anyway. Still, nice to see that the people that were hired for advertising actually have some measure of originality. As my grandfather says often, "the only originality left in the world is in advertising."

You'd be speaking of Dan Gorske?

He's right as well, but science also has originality inherent in it, do some experimenting with food, find a good fast food, because for me MaccyD isn't it, totally agree there is some much better fast food out there, if your willing to experiment. Even a burger van on a street corener is better than MaccyD's at least you get value for money.

EWW! MacDonalds food is looking grosser and grosser.

THe sundial is interesting.. .but why is it for MAcDs? WHy not SubWay or Tim Hortons?
1. Because McDonnald's thought of it, they wouldn't give such a creative idea to their rivals.
2. What's Tim Horton's?

I dont know the name of the guy, I just know some guy did the Supersize Me documentary. :p

Canadian donut chain. Also has some stores in the US, mostly in Michigan. They also have things like sandwiches and soup. It is the largest fast food restaurant in the country, outselling even McDonald's.

Tim Hortons

A brilliant ad no doubt, but that doesn't change the fact that mcdonalds is sh!t for sandwiches.

And no, I like my fast food, just not burger king or mickey d's.

Is it fatty? Yes, what isn't?
Noodles, vedgies, couscous, cereals, oatmeal, soup, sushis, etc, etc.....

Greasy? Not more than usual.
Sickening? I don't get sick after I eat it.

I hardly ever eat anything as greasy as McDonald's, except for pizza. I'll eat a quarter pounder maybe once a month when I feel like it, but I always regret it afterwards  It never tastes as good as I imagine it will.

Besides that, it really is a great concept for an ad!

It was started by a National hockey league player, and it's the most popular in Canada. Nothing to kill the stereotype.

And don't forget, we love it so much that we even opened one in Afghanistan so Canadian soldiers could get their donuts. :crazyeye:

Dudes I don't know what you guys are talking about saying McDonald's food tastes revolting!

It tastes like bread,
it tastes like meat,
it tastes like cheese,
so that's what I'm gonna eat! :D

Plus the billboard design is awesomely innovative. I would never have thought about that.
