Oh yes, regarding the Republic of California. They won't exist at the start, but they have the potential to revolt from the might Mexican Empire.

Search feature.

I can't figure it out. I know where it's placed, but I can never find the threads I'm looking for (Also if I know what the thread's main line is, etc.)

I still hail for option #1 or #2, as they are innovative, at some point at least.

Imageshack works just fine if you various people would learn to use the direct image link instead of the attachment imageshack long loading link.
How might I do this?

You know, I'm really curious as to how will you handle pre-Third War Kalimdor and other such distant locations. Or will the map expand there as soon as they became relevant to the main storyline (i.e., the Orcs had just conquered the Human kingdoms and have now set out west at the behest of their demonic puppet-masters, and at this point the game expands into Kalimdor)?

Also, "ALL the races"? I suppose that the Forest Trolls are an obvious example, as are the Centaur tribes, but does this extend to such species as the Gnolls (well, if they could unite into a sufficiently large army)? I seem to recall that the map in question was very politically-detailed. Oh, and Goblin cartels are a must-have, ofcourse.
I'd love to play a forest troll warlord of some sort.

Regarding the name for a WoW NES? Why WoW? Isn't this happening in a time frame far before the MMO came out?

@Lord_Iggy, i used "WoW" so that people knew what I was talking about. A sad majority of people don't even know there were previous games.

Regarding TWTUD, I always kinda hoped for a Zombie outbreak, forcing the nations of the world to turn their weapons and armies upon their own population, and one by one being overwhelmed until all that's left is a few island nations.

You mean like just Nippon? :-P

3. A Brave New World (working title). This NES will be an epic one along the lines of The World Turned Upside Down. It will start in 1830 and continue (hopefully) until 2030. Research has already begun into this NES, and a preliminary map as been established. There is a multitude of points of divergence for the history of this NES, but a brief summary would be this: All of British North America revolts in the American Revolution and they win their indpendence by 1780 thanks to French assistance. However, the Constitution is never created and the colonies soon revert to a multitude of atonomous nations. The rules will be mostly identical to TWTUD, but there will be exceptions, especially in regards to colonialism and expansion.

Sounds Awesome! An alternative, un-united America would make an interesting world.

3 sounds good. TWTUD continuing sounds good too

Well, Nippon does have some advantages, but it's too highly tied into global trade to seal itself off from the outside world in time to prevent the spread of the outbreak. I like the zombie apocalypse idea because it presents the largest, wealthiest nations with the biggest challenge.

Redecker Plan FTW!

Is this something similar to I Am Legend?

this is the current map for the alternative history NES. As you may be able to tell, it is incomplete, but i've had so many requests for a map, here it is so far.

May I reserve Russia (or at least Mexico (or Japan))?

I'm not accepting reservations yet. After all, this NES is a long ways from completion. There is a comfortably long time before this NES will be established.

what is the Greater Sudburian Empire?

EDIT: or is that North Bay, since it is farther inland?

No the zombie idea is closer to World War Z, basically zombies like that out of Dawn of the Dead. I considered doing that, but probably would not be as fun as you'd think.

Well I voted for the map you have just posted anyway :)
