Its funny you say that. Im in the middle of a research/Debate project where Im supposed to disprove that economies were the major driving force of Colonial Africa.

With little thought into it, I see it as yet another power race between nations, expanding colonisation was at its time the equivalent of building nukes in the cold war.

Yah my main points are: Competition between nations "My *Certain part of the male body* is bigger than yours." Spread of Christianity/Westernizing the "savages" and The sociological hierarachy of races that was insitutionalized by the colonial powers.

Personally I agree with Abbadon and Human_slaughter. Mostly colonialism was about prestige and religion. However, long-term colonialism did result in some economic benefits in some cases. This will be reflected in the NES, but I'll say now and later, that if people neglect colonialism while others do not, there will be consequences.

K, I'm looking at your map, and IMO Ethiopia should be larger and (almost) border Egypt. Eritrea should either be a vassal of Egypt or a small country no one cares about.
