This thread is devoted to the pop (or soda, whatever) Green River.

Have you ever had Green River?

Do you like Green River?

How often do you drink Green River?

Have you ever tried it as a float with Vanilla Ice Cream?

Do you really find it "first for thirst" as the slogan suggests?

What are your favorite foods to eat with Green River?

How would you describe the taste? It seems very unique to me.

Do you find the deep green color as awesome as I do?

Any other thoughts on Green River?

Don't forget to keep this thread festive by replying in bolded green text!

I have never heard of it. What's it like?

And it is only Soda. Never "Pop", or gods forbid, "Coke".

I have not heard of it.

And it is "soda". Soda is soda. Pop is what happens to weasels. Coke is what you don't say near police officers.

I've never seen that before. Soda is soda for me.

What does this Green River taste like?

I can't believe it's not poison  !

We don't have anything that weird here in Australia I don't think.

Does it taste like river?

'Cuz rivers taste like crap.

I suppose it depends on the river. I hope it doesn't taste like the Hudson River or even...urgh...the Bronx River.

Too bad you have no idea what you're talking about. Jones soda was started in the 80s. Green River started in 1919. Jones is actually a ripoff of Green River, seriously.

Those bastards! Is this Soda available outside of the States?

I don't actually know! I bet you could at least get some mail order if you really want to! It's highly delicious!

Where do you get this mythical "Green River" thing? Even my mIRC displays green text on black background! It's like, subliminal advertising or something! I need to try some!

The only Green River I've heard of is in Chicago on St. Patrick's Day.

Well, its available at Supermarkets and Convenient stores here in WA. They sell it in glass bottles, cans, and 2 plastic bottles. I believe that the glass bottles are best for that nostalgic flavor.

Really? Here in Southern CA (or at least, my town), I haven't seen many glass bottle drinks that are non-alcoholic. This could be a problem!

Could you describe the taste of it? Maybe if I knew what it tasted like more, I'd be more motivated to hunt some of this Green River thing!

It's main flavoring is natural lime oils! It's like limey without being citrusy, its deep and complex and sweet and highly delicious. and totally AWESOME as a float with vanilla ice cream!

Can this drink be enjoyed with alcohol? If so what type and have you tried it?

Rip-off or not I love Jones and though I usually just get Green Apple from the store I much prefer their blue bubblegum flavor.

soda? pop? we have stuff here called american cream soda, so i'm guessing it's like that. i used to stick ice cream in a glass of lemonade- i adored the froth!

I've never seen this kind of pop before, but I'm sure I'd try it, because I love drinks that are not (coke/pepsi/sprite/everyday pops), 'specially fruit pops.

Plus, everybody knows pop tastes better out of glass bottles.

Is it really carbonated? Is it just a Washington/left cost thing? I can't really think of any local pop we might have...
