The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

I guess China being the first to circumnavigate the globe is not the worst thing. They might have managed it if they had continued their naval exploration with Admiral Zheng. Maybe China could be scripted to give a low priority for naval exploration or to give up on it after a period of time!

The problem isn’t circumnavigation, the problem is that it’s just the first sign of monster China that will dominate for the rest of the game if it’s not stopped...

But yeah, this is probably because of playing in Marathon

Poland conquered Moscow

And nothing ahistorical! Byzantium Lower Volga intrigues much more. (Khazars allies?)

I think Poland is underestimated juggernaut.
I see Polish Berlin and Lubeck (Wends will revenge!) and Polish Kem' (but IRL Lithuanian raiders went up to White Sea, and Novgorod was Polish vassal at the end of XIV century, so nothing ahistorical again)

I was considering mentioning that, but since brevity is the soul of wit, and tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes, I decided to be brief: Poland Conquered Moscow: conquered I called it: not mentioning it's historicity or timeliness; for, to define brevity, what is it but to be nothing else but acronymable. Indeed, Poland Conquered Moscow can easily be abbreviated to a well remembered PCM pronounced Pekom, whereas Poland Conquered Moscow Early is pronounced Pecomey, which does not sound nearly as catchy. So I caught this catchiness and omitted the awkward limb that hung low from the shapely and manageable mass of Pekom.

Hey, I just noticed they're likely using QMC! Awesome to see the results of people's games!

But yeh, I'm going to look into that double Sweden thing.

More like i am using it. It's very good to always add more civs, altough they can be buggy sometimes. (Swahili's first UHV being bugged, Manchuria's not having a Republic name...)

Oh. My. God. The AI Mamluks actually did the same thing i did.

Can you please post screens from modmods somewhere else, in the respective thread for example? If a modmod makes several balance changes it is impossible to judge what is actually surprising in a screenshot.

Ok then, and transfer these messages to 1SDAN's modmod topic

I did some search in this thread but couldn't similar posts in the last half year - dunno if that happened before?

[DoC release 1.15; Scenario 3000 BC on Monarch Level; Roman-French switch]

It's Anno Domini 1250 - after Chinese caravels have been sighted in the Mediterranean ~100 years ago, We the Glorious French Pope have now sent oceanworthy ships across all the oceans to prove that the Earth is round - before these heathen Chinese will do just that.
We the Pope decided to let the tithe be collected for a second time, as We have recently built the Saint Peters' Cathedral in Nîmes and that Church had been rather pricey.
Suddenly, a leader from a continent far, far away appeared in Nîmes, reporting as an avid Catholic Follower wishing to pay the tithe. He was called Huayna Capac and had not been contacted via caravel yet.

Unearthing ancient documents of the Imperial Roman Archives, We the Pope have now confirmed that in fact, Anno Domini 650, a catholic commune had been founded in the Mayan city called Yax Mutal. The true Catholic Faith had then been spread among the independent cities as far south as to the later Incan lands, while the Mayans eventualy collapsed.

Lo and behold - Catholic Yax Mutal in AD 650, more Catholic Cities in South America in 1150 right at the Incan spawn. Wasn't that a bit early? (Great Schism was AD 500, catholicism was not present in Yax Mutal as late as AD 630)

Edit: Is it possible that some AI has used a Great Prophet in their homeland, and the American cities were the most suitable ones for catholicism? In 650, only Vikings could have been the culprits, with nearly no cities around to whom to spread. It is suspicious how quickly Catholicism also spread to Moctezuma who had it as state religion when I met him shortly after Huayna.
(Also, there was no Conqueror event. Possibly related?)
