The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

There are implications for the graphics engine. Plot types affect the shape of the ground lattice.

Interesting, I didn't know you could make that indepth changes.

Would it really be that visually unappealing for the peak to be represented as a model instead of as part of the ground lattice? I'd really like for this elevation system to be added with the new map, it looks so cool.

I do like the elevation system. However, I don't like that they completely get rid of peaks. I think it would be nice (both gameplaywise and aesthetically) if there are still some impassable peaks on the map, which is not possible with the elevation system.

A possible solution to this is to turn peaks into a terrain type. I think it should be possible to create feature art that looks like the current peaks when placed on a tile. If desired, the terrain feature can removed any yield the tile has. I don't know how feasible this is.

This is what I was trying to suggest but didn't know how to phrase correctly. For some reason I thought marshes were considered a resource...

I don't wanna be that guy, but isn't this thread meant for funny and interesting things done by the AI?

If Leoreth is okay with it, I am too.

ANARCHY!

Could use Civ 4 Colonizations mountains, we could use more Civ 4 Colonization models and textures in general, the trees look much better then in vanilla for example.

I'm not going to lie, I definitely try to build absurdly long road networks if I have workers that aren't busy doing much of anything.

Snow world.

That episode of Spongebob Squarepants where Squidward travels so hard into the future that he ends up in that empty place

Just rolled an Inca start to see how Turkish AI was doing, and realized that we desperately need a FFH crossover with armageddon counter + four horsemen implemented

Just to make sure I also switched to Byzantines, Hulugannis weren't moving.

I was playing as Justinian, the true Roman Emperor, when my scholars warned me that someone had circumnavigated the world ... in the year 744 AD.

But we have the greatest city walls :wallbash:

How very unlikely, have you figured out who it was?

Perhaps that's what you get for playing Marathon.
