The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

Damn, and isnt events a BTS adition? 7 years after 2000....
If it's an event from vanilla, it was reworked in BTS I'm pretty sure. The various government types did have very rare events in Vanilla where something unique could happen. I think. It's been 17 years since I played vanilla, don't crucify me if I'm spreading misinformation.

But yeah, the 2000 election really had people of a certain political viewpoint riled up. Bush was the next incarnation of fascism long before Trump was anything but the funny TV guy saying "You're fired!" (not that I'm a Bush fan, quite the opposite!)

Oh no! Im aware that Bush was the OG tyrant.

Oh my god, it's super Byzantium on the 600 AD scenario! Finally, a Persia versus Rome rematch in the early modern age!

I think i did an arabia game pre 1.18 where Byzantium went all the way till 1700s because i basically mopped the entire Seljuk/Mongol invasion since well.. They would also destroy me too :P

Bush was the next incarnation of fascism
Can we refrain from incorrectly applying a long-dead ideology to modern politicians, especially in a humorous thread? If anything, modern "incarnation of Fascism" is called Anocracy (and is hardly a reactionary movement, more like bog standard calficiation of power structures turning ruling class into self-serving entity).

Regardless. Let's drop this topic.

Something's not right with the Roman expansion wars this game. A while ago I saw 2-3 groups of Roman conquerors who were supposed to be out there conquering some places, wandering instead in the Italian Peninsula.

Now Greece/Macedonian has finished their own conquest of Egypt etc., and is mobilizing all troops to fight back Rome.

China is the civ with the least predictable civics in my experience.

But yeah their tech is bonkers on speeds above normal.

Some points:

1) China is collapsing on your pic
2) They have Inca as a vassala and they have a name for it, wow
3) Why is france dead.

Paragon/Marathon always leads to weird stuff but I thought this was pretty good. China, who got conquerors on Toltecs/Maya in the 600s, vassalized Mongols and must have gifted/traded them corn because they built the Floating Gardens in Kashgar!

Also all-time earliest Eiffel Tower: it was just built the turn before. And a surviving Rome!
