The "OMG! Look what happened!" Thread

I had a game as China (3000 B.C. start) where I was aiming not to found Taoism and Confucianism. I was wondering who founded them so I opened WB and the Confucian holy city was Hippo, Carthage!! :lol::lol::lol:
The Taoist one was in Egypt, but because Knossos was the Christian holy city, all the Euros became Christian :(
Also, I founded Islam so Arabia was Jewish :lol:

Usually goody huts are not this friendly to me on Monarch difficulty. I'm playing England, and at the start of the game I got Compass from the hut in Ireland and a scout from the hut in Denmark, who I sent east to explore. He found another goody hut just on the Mongolian border, and, well...you couldn't really ask for anything better (especially as England)!

EDIT: The next turn I got the event for peace with the Natives. Wow.

Who would have thought some landlocked tribe in Mongolia had the secrets to intercontinental transport? :lol::lol:

Anyways, been playing a game on Leoreth's modmod DoC, latest version, big post coming up:

I must have missed the part of my history textbook where it mentioned the Viking Colony of Central Asia.
Delhi, Merv (the light blue patch surrounded by Arab green), and Thessalonica (presumably some Byzantine outpost conquered by Vikings) are all Viking cities here. Although Merv was taken by the Byzantines the turn the second pic was snapped. (Oh and this is all in the Medieval Era by the way. Delhi was Viking before the 12th Century AD, if I recall correctly. How that happened is beyond me).

I must have missed the part about Spanish Ethiopia (in 1300 AD, no less) also.

...And this isn't so much of a OMG moment as a WTH moment. Note to Leoreth: Turn off Justinian's settler-spam attitude. I mean, really, WHO settles four cities in Morocco?? Oh that's right, Justinian.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
:crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye:

...Since when does the AI GIFT you techs???? Especially when they're light-years ahead of you, like with Justinian. This was SERIOUSLY the first time I ever saw that, EVER, in a game of BTS, RFC or not.

I load up a Byzantium game in DoC and find that the Mediterranean is Zoroastrian.

In case you're wondering, I combined DoC with the Improved Artstyle mod and messed with the names of the civs. I also messed with the unitartstyles thing in the xml.

Egypt founded Zoroastrianism, and Phoenicia is the only Catholic nation, so far.

Elliniko Protathlima? I take it you've been messing around with the dynamic names file? :p And out of curiosity, what terrain graphics mod are you running?

Any way...

German Korea for the lulz?

Surprising: The Incas are still alive and unvassalized in the 1770s. More surprising: They're Muslim. Most surprising: They're fighting the Spanish... and winning. The Incan Jihad is at hand!

The Americans settled three cities in Alaska... I've never even seen one city up there.

I thought this was an interesting-looking southern Africa. The Portuguese are settling outside of their name-map.

I lol'd.

This Graphics mod. And Elliniko Protathlima is Greek for Greek league (Modern Greek, anyway.)(Thank God for Google Translate)(I like Applesauce)

Silly, that's no korea. that's manchuria
what kind of city is "sanshan" anyway...

wow, sanshan is the old dalian. unexpected historicalness considering the other names. Though it never was a proper city, more like a geographic area.

Game with Japan. Many bizarre things has happened. Among them India was completely razed by the barbarians or someone else and the buddism and hinduism simply don't exist in this game. xD Are dead religions.

But after I reached the Europe and exchanged some maps I notice this:

Rome Taoist (the only ones in Europe)... lol

Hmm, didn't realize "Lagos" was one of the Portuguese names for cities outside their name map. It must have been by utter coincidence that jbryant ended up settling that city on the Nigerian coast in his video.

OMG, is that a historical religions Europe?!?!?

The Portuguese name for Lagos in Nigeria is "Lago de Curamo" - but you need biology to chop the jungle and found that city.

Other bizarre thing and surely a bug. The Netherlands ended being a barbarian territory after they lose the colony that they usually found in Guinea to the barbarians. xD

Bizarriest game ever.
