The Planetary Emergency

Unless you find a way to put science in the bible, all attempts to convince conservatives (who strangely don't give a damn about conserving the environment) are doomed.

You mean lie how God sedated Adam when he took out a rib, or how blood "speaks" in the fact that their is a lot of information to be found in the blood, and how it was split. Yeah the Bible is devoid of science.

 Gold.

And don't forget how God cloned Eva from Adams rib and changed just a single chromosome.

I'm sigging it. It's just too good.

We are most certainly the only animal that makes conscious choices that are bad for our survival as a species.

Richard Leakey

Wait, if God is omnipotent, why did he need to sedate Adam? Couldn't he just have prevented Adam's nervous system from registering pain?

Wait, if God is omnipotent, why did he need that bloody rib to begin with?

So I guess we should tax ourselves for energy use and give it to our political overlords, because, apparently, that will solve the problem.

I'd like to ask - what changes were made to deal with the ozone hole, with acid rain, with lead in gasoline, etc?

In each of those three (real) issues, there was no amount of hand-wringing that could be done by greenies that would interrupt the trendlines that were causing concern. Oh, *I* could avoid hairspray and *you* could avoid driving, but both of those efforts were chickenfeed compared to the crisis.

What changed, what changed so massively as to interrupt those trendlines?

What part of those successes can we incorporate regarding greenhouse gases and their effects upon climate change & oceanic acidity? If I hand-wring enough, and adjust my lifestyle by some percentage, will that interrupt the trends?

Do you have better examples? I mean, they're honestly pretty weak. Anything on the scale of the Koran calling the Sun and the Earth 'orbs'?

Which at the time of writing was far from radical, cutting-edge science.

Ehn, it was fairly cutting edge. You'd need to have a court of scholars to know something like that. You couldn't just be a shmoe off the street and know something like that.

The Greeks knew it - no Greek philosopher worth his salt denied that the Earth was round, and Aristarchus came up with the heliocentric model. It demonstrated education, but not science - science is about finding out new things, not digging up old discoveries.
