The Prequel: Greatest Movie Character Ever?

To complete the sequel please name your greatest movie character ever. I have decided not to include a poll in this thread because of the usual complaining about your personal character not being included. So to start things off I choose, Indiana (or Junior) Jones.
I'll second Indiana Jones.
Hard to cut it down to one, but I'll keep it under fifty;)
Travis Bickle
Harry Palmer
Dirty Harry
Gabriel (The Mission)
Arthur and Merlin (Excalibur)
Oscar Wilde
Michael Collins/Oscar Schindler
Jesus of Nazareth (Greatest Story Ever Told)

That'll do pig, that'll do.
Best lead characters?
A tough one! Let's see...

Ash - Army of Darkness
Darth Vader - Star Wars
Vincent Price - The Abominable Dr. Phibes
Christopher Lee - in any movie!
Kenneth Williams - in any Carry On movie!
Bogart - Casablanca
George Pepard - The Blue Max
Queen Taramis - Conan the Destroyer
(ok, she is not a main character, but what a woman!)

and my top fave...

Tura Satana - in any movie, she rules!
(the most action-packed, dominating woman in any movie, ever!)
Real life?

Mufasa - Lion King:rolleyes:

I have really no idea.
The Terminator....

Ah-nuld in T2 is the baddest mutha that ever put on a pair of dark shades. I don't even know if I could hold up that big ass hog he rides, much less cruising along on the mutha, steering with one hand and firing my 12 gauge with the other.

Indy is pretty damn cool, though...

Then there's Clint Eastwoods 'stranger with no name' characters in the Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns.......great flicks all of them.
Indeed. How could we set aside the cheroot smoking, poncho wearing Man With No Name:D Simply marevellous

Franco Nero was very good as Django, a deadly spaghetti western hero who carried a machine gun around...in a coffin:cool:

The original duo - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Roy Hobbs, the man who knocked the cover off the ball

Mick Travis and co. in "if"; the original schoolboy rebels, in many different senses...

Willem Dafoe as a Jewish Greek boxer in Auschwitz in "Triumph of the Spirit"
Indiana Jones
Keyser Soze
Nicki Santoro (Joe Pesci in Casino)
William Wallace

...Uh, I'm sure there are alot more...
darth vader of coursem
and death in seventh seal
Jay and Silent Bob!!!!

And of course Indiana... Watched it this morning actually...

bond is mad too... and every character played by Bruce Willis.. Corben Dallas...

Well Brave Sir Robin has to be included in this collection. :D

Bravely bold Sir Robin rode forth from Camelot.
He was not afraid to die, O brave Sir Robin.
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways,
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin!
He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp,
Or to have his eyes gouged out and his elbows broken,
To have his kneecaps split and his body burned away
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, brave Sir Robin!

His head smashed in and his heart cut out
And his liver removed and his bowels unplugged
And his nostrils raped and his bottom burned off
And his pen--

Brave Sir Robin ran away,
Bravely ran away, away.
When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly, he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin.

He is packing it in and packing it up
And sneaking away and buggering up
And chickening out and pissing off home,
Yes, bravely he is throwing in the sponge.

Not really admirable or brave, but damned hilarious! John Goodman's hitman in Grosse Pointe Blank is another excellent character, as is Léon. Jaws was quite cool in James Bond..... until Moonraker! :vomit:

[edit]: How could I forget the wonder of this role? :crazyeyes - Brian Blessed in Flash Gordon!!!
Donald Sutherland (Oddball) in Kelly's Heroes.
Rutger Hauer (Batty) in Blade Runner.
Ewan MacGregor (Renton) in Trainspotting.
John Cusack (Rob Gordon) in High Fidelity.
Donal Logue (Dex) in The Tao of Steve.
Ricardo Montalban (Khan) in Star Trek 2.
George Clooney (Jack) in Out of Sight.
Helena Bonham Carter (Marla Singer) in Fight Club.

Lots of others taht I can't think of now.
Oh, I thought of some more:
Quint in Jaws
Both Oscar and Felix in The Odd Couple . Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon were absolutely perfect.
Flint from Our Man Flint etc. was pretty cool.
Don Corleone, either Brando or De Niro, both superb.
