I got a real job. Yesterday I cashed my cheque myself before mom picked me up (about $80) and put it in my bag. My mom was in my bag and she took all of it out of the bag without asking me to buy cigarettes and lotto tickets. Is there anything I can do?
I have a bank account but my mom has the bank card and she won't give it to me and would take the money out anyways.
There are a lot of good suggestions as to how you can handle this:

yeah, demand the money back.
And besides that, get a bank account and get direct deposit.
If it's your bank account, get your card back and change the PIN to something only you know.

If it's not your bank account, go open your own bank account.

If it is your account, and you can't get your card back, go to the bank, tell them your card was stolen, get a new card, and change the PIN to something only you know.
Aimee, ask around at the banks in your city. I don't know the rules in your province about what age you have to be before your parents legally have no say in your bank account unless their name(s) appear on the paperwork - but you have got to take steps to stop your mother from doing this. What she is doing is THEFT.

Ideally, never keep your money in any place where she could get at it. I hesitate to suggest using your locker at school, but if that's a place where she can't find it...

Find some GOOD hiding places at home, if you must have cash around. I used to have to do that. ALWAYS be aware of exactly how much money you have. My grandmother once went into my purse and took $20, thinking I'd never miss it. The guilty look on her face when I confronted her was priceless (in a sad way). I told her that if she'd ASKED, I probably would have let her have the money. But since she didn't ask, I considered that she had stolen it.

Report your current card stolen (since your mom is using it without your permission, that's technically true). Of course, if her name is on the banking paperwork, this idea won't work.

But do open an account at a different bank. Explain to your boss that you must have direct deposit of your paycheques, and set up online banking so no paperwork ever comes to your home.

Take control of this situation NOW. You will definitely need to be able to do your own banking when you start college. The college will not take "my mom took my money so now I can't buy my books or pay my fees" as an excuse.

choxorn and kill fire are brothers, I don't know of any others.

My bro and I are here.

Is there a specific person who was supposed to give Judas the 30 silver pieces for betraying Jesus? After a fast google search it looks like it was some council of Romans or whatnot.

After looking at wikipedia is looks like some guy Caiaphas?

I have no knowledge on the subject.

But yeah, it looks like it was jews not romans. But I swears I googled something that said romans. But, that was my great research of maybe 1 minute on google, 3 on wikipedia, and then straight here.

Has anyone ever read/heard of a book called The Ring in Meiji by William Butler? Published in '65? I found it in my basement today, I think I grabbed it from one of those "Free Crap" boxes in front of some house when I was a kid because it had samurais on the cover. I tried and failed (it's like four inches thick) to read it, couldnt have been more than 11.

I started it today and it seems really good and well researched but I cant find ANYTHING about it or the author on the internet.

It's not rare or valuable. I just did a quick search on amazon.com.

When making forum games, what are stances on some more risque topics, especially related to illegal activities such as drugs? I understand that roleplaying makes things more tolerable(example: the Mafia games and murder, which is far more serious than any drugs).

I want to make a very crime-ridden forum game I think we could all have fun on, but I don't want to get started if the topic would end up locked, or worse, I'd end up being infracted. I intend to make a disclaimer that the game acknowledges all its activities as illegal, however, and does not encourage them in any way, shape or form.

I just wanted some mod opinions on such a thing before I even considered it. :) Protection rackets(and other forms of extortion), carjacking, gunrunning, drugs trading, contract killing, etc. would all play a part, as it would more or less be a game centered on taking over the criminal underworld, with the players all being competitors for this.

I just need to know where the line is drawn and such. Of course, I imagine so long as it doesn't get too explicit, there aren't too many problems. After all, if murder is tolerated in Forum Games, all these other things can't even begin to compare... :p

Who numbers in the majority, on the whole of planet Earth? Liberals, or conservatives?

As in, is the majority of the people on this planet conservative, or liberal?

And why?

Spoiler :
Liberal = left wing; conservative = right wing

Yep. Liberal = left; conservative = right.

The terms are extremely relative - I think it almost makes more sense to look at it the other way around and define the center as more or less what people average out to be.

Ok so I'm planning on moving within the next year, and I'm torn between two U.S. cities: Denver or Seattle. Based upon the information below, and your own experiences, which would be a better choice?

1. I like colder weather, i want to be able to wear hoodies, long sleave stuff, jackets, etc. when it is winter, and get some snow. Though too much snow might be an issue since i don't have an SUV, but if the city is good at clearing roads i might be ok.

2. I'm single, and don't want to pick a city that has demographics opposite of what I'm looking for in general, and in the opposite sex. I want a city that has a relatively ethnically diverse population (asian, latin, white, whatever, if you know specifics please tell!), higher women to men ratio, a younger population (ages 20-25ish). And the demographics would preferably remain constant year round, meaning they won't fluctuate out of my preference range when universities let out for the summer or the seasons change, or whatever.

3. Money currently is an issue. I basically will only have enough money for two months rent ($600/month aptmt. is what i am hoping for) and don't want to find myself stuck in a place where rents are crazy high and other costs of living are outrageous.

4. I would be looking for entry-levelish biology/environmental science jobs. I need a city that has a good amount of job opportunities relating to those.

5. A city with good parks plus cheap entertainment and plenty of recreational stuff would be preferable.

Seattle snows rarely. Denver gets a lot more snow and can be colder in the winter. Seattle in the summer time may be cooler too, since it's located near the ocean and will get the colling effect from that. But Denver is pretty high up, and doesn't get too hot and is generally dry in the summer time.

Can't comment on the rest, but if you don't want to deal with snow at all, or rarely, go with Seattle. On the other hand, if you don't mind snow, Denver's not all that bad.

Seattle also rains an awful lot. Unless you like carrying an umbrella around most months or don't mind the rain, Seattle is probably not the city for you :)

Several quick questions!

1) I am probably going to try to go back to school. I have two flunked out semesters and one 3.5 GPA semester. When I was attending college, I was diagnosed with severe depression and social anxiety. This is going to sound extremely selfish and seem like totally wishful thinking... but is there such thing as a medical waive? I want to go back to school, but considering my official transcript is a mess, I am not sure how realistic that is... is this something worth pursuing or talking about?

2) Related; is financial aid possible for someone who was at college, stopped, and is now trying to go again?

3) Is accounting anything more than the extremely boring negativity I hear about it online?

4) Is Malaysia neat? If I ever get back to school, I may have an inside contact for setting me up with a study abroad program there. I've been reading up on it and just wondered if anyone has some authetic first hand experience.

THANKS!

In America, you can get into community colleges with that kind of background, and depending how you do, transfer somewhere for a bachelors.

I've only taken three accounting classes... I will say that it is useful stuff to know, very useful. But it is boring and I've pulled my hair out trying to figure out how I've been a few dollars off.
