Father was dragged to church every Sunday as a child, thus he no longer goes to church unless absolutely necessary.
Mom wasn't dragged to church, and I think she now only goes to placate my grandma (just to shut her up).

I had thought about god a bit, as a child, although i was too busy trying to calculate just how different i was from my father, due to the bad relationship between my parents, so had less time to consider the existence of a god or not.
Both my parents have some sort of religious belief, although not entirely mainstream and at the same time not entirely- at least in their view- unchristian. I on the other hand am not religious. Still i had been spiritualistic- in some way- for a few years, and then even a christian for half a year. Was that influenced in a way by my parents? Yes, but not directly, however ussually i trust that one isnt influenced so directly by his parents, otherwise the influence would have been very easy to be done away with.

My father was agnostic, but with very strong spiritual/mystical tendancies. He wasn't exactly theist, but he thought there was more than the material world.
Both were extremely open-minded, and never attempted to give us one belief or another. They always tried to let us make up our own mind.

Dad thinks god is a spaceman [he loves getting people riled up about it], so would be athesit. His parents were anglican and catholic and their kids were left to make up their own mind about things.
I went to catholic high school and tend more toward the atheist side of things. My sisters are christian and agnostic respectively.
Edit: we weren't forced in any direction as far as religion is concerned. I went to a catholic school because it was the best, academically, around.

I'm sure that there are threads on this somewhere... but basically [most basic description ever] agnostic is "I won't believe until I have proof" and athesit is "There is no god".

I am a christian. My dad never set foot in church as long as I knew him. Mom went sporadically.
One who doesn't believe that God exists (or doesn't believe that YOUR God exists) is an atheist. An agnostic says "maybe", but is waiting to see.
