The very many questions-not-worth-their-own-thread question thread XXVIII

Don't think I meant it in those ways. Imagine a group of straight guys talking sexually about females that they fancy including references to breasts / genitals / sex, and then a group of gay guys similarly idealizing about men.

Also is the latter considered as 'sexually objectifying' or offensive towards men as the former is to women?

I remember this from overhearing a conversion from a straight guy complaining that once he was around gay men and he had to overhear penis talk and he thought 'ewwww" and got away as fast as he could. For some reason he thought this was a cool manly thing to admit to doing.

So I've always wondered if simply discussing such similar things about either gender, from either gender is considered equally tolerable / taboo according to western social norms.

i dunno i've had dick conversations among the company of straight people. it didn't put me off.

I'm not sure what the question is here, but I quite like overhearing women talk about my dick amongst themselves. Is that any help?

I don't mind if the talk mostly consists of gales of laughter, even.

?

Spoiler :

Are those.. raisins? People who put raisins in baked goods need to be exterminated.

You cannot make a spotted dick without spots (raisins).

I think suet is fairly similar, but spotted dick is a great pudding. :D

Is this ok for the skills section of my C.V:

Skills

- Self taught proficiency of I.T skills, computer building, repair and maintainance.
- Proficient with productivity programs - Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Movie Maker.
- Proficient with music production including recording, songwriting, composition and grade 8 Piano (demos available on my youtube page).
- Proficient with making basic youtube videos with a Youtube Partnership awarded.
- Performances during school & university in student choirs and orchestras.
- Proficient with use of Ebay for buying and selling with 100% positive feedback from 50+ sales of my old computer parts and mobile phones.

You don't need "proficient with", since that's implied by your heading.

Aha, thanks.

It will be checked in full by the advisor I'll be working with anyway.

To my eyes, 'proficiency with Ebay' looks like it's grasping at straws, unless it's particularly relevant to the job - though I'm intrigued to see precisely what sort of job requires musical ability, computer building and online auctioneering as qualifying skills.

Even if the job doesnt require it, it shows interest and activity in my free time, just as though my past work experience and education might be completely irrelevant to a new job. 100% positive feedback shows good sales ability and honesty. Small things like this can you pull you ahead of other job seekers.

And yes, I removed all the 'proficient' spam. Also I need to fill 1 page of A4 with something, plus a cover letter if needed for any jobs.

Still got to wait a full day for my appointment on thurs with the job agency. 1-2 months on average for a new job for their clients they told me. I hope so!

And also - all hail Venlafaxine for (eventually) getting me back into work.

Also this from a google search:

'If you know a particular programming language, put it down. If you have basic understanding of French, your reader wants to know. You can't be expected to know the specifics of the particular bespoke accounting system they use, but by demonstrating the broad range of things you do know, you're giving the impression that you're a good learner who can retain information.'

Ok, I cut out all the waffle and narrowed it down to:

Ok, I'll cut ebay out.

Well, actually I had a job in the past in a phone shop, and they used to trade on ebay too. I didnt use it back then, but it can be relevant to a sales / retail job I think, but Im trying to find an office job.

wait, if you are selling and you have 50 items with 100%, then yes keep that in. That's metrics and success and reliability.

also, link your music!

I wouldn't put "self-taught", I think it's more impressive if they assume you learned it as part of a job somewhere or something similar. But then again, it also shows initiative - but in that case it might make sense to elaborate further.. or make it sound more impressive.. such as.. "Can assemble a computer from scratch and troubleshoot hardware issues".

My take on it, but I haven't updated my resume in a decade.

link your music here i mean

There's only 1 song and 2 joplin piano pieces on there.

Youtube channel bhavvv - playlist my music.

I linked the song on another thread, I put it into a 'CivBE trailer goes with everything' clip and it fit perfectly.

Except I have no idea what spaceships have to do with marriages.

I have too much rehersal anxiety to record more with family members around, but when I eventually get my own place to live I'll do loads more.

Well here's the full version of my wedding song!

Link to video.

Also the songs I tried making while doing my minor in music turned out so bad (was my first time trying music production). But then I just spent a few months learning how to use Sonar X3 at home. The software is much easier to use now compared to 10 years ago.
