Well I just played till archery following Thar's plan.
Switched into buddhism as Izzy asked three turns into the set. She declared the turn after. I stopped as we just finished archery. Settler is heading west as our 9xp chariot spotted fish there. Stone is being hooked up. an mp warrior is rallying our northern city so the chariot can leave.
A wall can be whipped in the eastern city but we won't cut it. Again.

... my oh my. What is wrong with our games?? Twice screwed by AIs and once by the map generator. In case anyone would like to try yet again I will certainly not generate saves

I think we need to seriously consider teching archery earlier in the next game.
mysty has some awful luck rolling maps, but I think we're partly to blame for these. Not enough focus on early production or land blocking.
I'll play another, though it's getting seriously ridiculous.
Might be time for us to retire in shame.
Perhaps we should come up with some sort of variant? The interest seems very low.

Ouch, tough break. Here's a game that I have been playing on the side and found to be very fun. It will be quite interesting to see how it would play out in a Succession Game.
Events off, Huts off, other settings are the defaults.
Feel free to rehost the file and the images in a new thread if you like the looks of it.
EDIT: For anyone arriving late to the thread, the original saved game was an Immortal saved game, but now it is a proper Deity saved game, as per the discussion in the next few messages.

I don't mind but you have to tell me how to do it... er... maybe I just enter the World Builder, save it, and then load it as a scenario? Do I also have to add techs to the Barbs or anything fancy like that?
EDIT: I tried to do what I said but the AIs seem to start with Immortal-level units... do Deity-level units have to be added in manually? Is there an easier automatic way? If there isn't an easier way, how many units does each AI need to get added to them? Do special scripts need to be assigned?

You have to add the AI units manually in WB first. Then save a WB file, load as a scenario and add the barb techs in WB before saving the actual file.
Deity units: 2 Settlers, 1 Worker, 2 Scouts, 4 Archers (all units start on the same tile) Edit: that is total units, ofc. Don't add that to Imm units.
Barb techs: Hunting, Archery, Agriculture, Wheel

Okay, I fixed up the file and now it is a proper Deity saved game, complete with the Barbs being given those 4 starting techs and each AI having the additional Settler and additional Archer above and beyond Immortal level.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and according to lymond, I was supposed to ensure that each of the AIs started with The Wheel. Well, they do now.
I also took a new screenshot of the F8 Settings screen, just to confirm the settings. I edited the saved game and the changed screenshot into my message #112. Good luck!

I agree with bbp that we should react to the low interest. Maybe I should be more strict with regard to a 24/48 rule to keep the pace up.
So, are we sold on that save? I mean, after all those edits dhoomstriker had to do we can't really say no Pericles surely is in the group of few very strong deity leaders so we have one less excuse. Do we want another thread?
I'll be out of town 2.-5. so we should shuffle the roster.

if that is the start from the game I am following you playing I really think it will be really tough on Deity.
Mostly due to the biggest difference on Deity compared to Imm
I am not sure people should play this map.
