I seem to recall seeing that video before.

That Republicans consider a non-Republican misleading the public to be infringing on the Republican's intellectual property.

TIL the indefinite incarcerations at Guantanamo Bay detention camp are done by the US government for kicks. There's apparently nothing at stake by letting them stand trial.

Also, Tide detergent is involved in money laundering. I am not making this up.

The sentence "I'm out of marijuana right now, but when I get re-upped, I'll hook you up if you can get me 15 bottles of Tide." gets us awfully close to the point where someone will say "Screw dollars, we're trading in caps!". Without, of course, the post-nuclear apocalypse setting (hopefully).

Plastic caps wouldn't last well.

I guess we'll just have to wait for Coca-Cola to invent a metal cap that can withstand a nuclear explosion.

TIL there's a city in Britain called "Westward Ho!"

Yes, the exclamation mark is part of the name.

Yes. The name comes, via Kingsley's novel of the same name, from the cry of Thames boatmen looking for trade up river.

Also used by Viola, as a very mild exclamation, in Twelfth Night.

Maida Vale is another interesting name. The town was named after a pub, which had been named after a battle between the French and English fought in Italy.

You think that's awesome?

You've never heard of Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!

Ha! Ha!

This is new, and made for very good reading.

Bottle caps! How much for a Nuka-Cola?
It can be outdone.

My barter skill is maxed out, that's why I managed to sell you that rifle… which you apparently know how to aim… oh. I'll give you a better discount, Tolnie.

Rifles? These are for the weak-minded. Real men come up close by with a proton axe and kill robots/use a thermic lance to stick it up so deep they'll like it.

Of course there's always Bangkok's nonsensical formal name. Krungthepmahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphimanawatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit; tranlated as City of angels, great city of immortals, magnificent city of the nine gems, seat of the king, city of royal palaces, home of gods incarnate, erected by Visvakarman at Indra's behest..
