Tip the pizza delivery driver!

$20 for the pizza
-$3-5 gas fee
-$3-5 vehicle maintenance fee
+Sales Tax

How does a pizza cost $20? In all honesty I've never seen such an expensive pizza in my whole life. Just been in Italy 1 week ago, so I do know what I'm talking about: a normal pizza = 6.5 euro. A large, expensive pizza = 9 euro. Here, a pizza is less than 10$, or very few people could afford it.

Your utter failure to grasp the concept is astounding. I refer you to the Menu Rik posted. *gasp* if you order a larger pizza it costs you more. These socialists are crazy.
But in a free market economy, more money is expected for more service. Any deviation from that is artificial.

This concept is the same whether we are discussing service or manufacturing. Again, you're simply showing us that it is simple ignorance that inspires your objection in the first place.

That's a contradiction in my eyes, when I compare it to LucyDuke's (?) post that the time to make a special foo-foo drink (thus service) isn't included in the sale-price. So to me that sounds that more service =/= more money.

Or you must have meant that if your service is below par people won't come back for seconds and if it is above par they will.

About 13 to 14 dollars. And no delivery cost. Really no. Not even a tip is required, but it would be appreciated. No hidden cost - what you see is what you get.

Uh where are you getting your exchange rates on that menu?

In Cardiff, Wales
Large Pepperoni Plus = $21.30 USD (10.50 GBP)

In Wilkesboro, NC:
Large Pepperoni Lovers = $12.90 USD

Free delivery huh?

Go to Cardiff. Check out that menu.

Isn't just better for the customer to choose not pay a tip? Isn't it better for the customer to have a tip system instead of being forced to pay more money?
If that's the case, why this thread? :)

And I am looking beyond what's good for the customer. There are more parties involved.

Still nowhere near 40 dollars. :p
And I do agree that these pizza's are expensive, but it was the first English languaged leaflet I could find. The Pizza location that I prefer has most pizza's from about €6. Orders above €10 are deliverd free of charge, below are €1,50 delivery cost.

I assume she would expect a larger tip for making foo-foos than just sliding a beer to a customer. Did she state that isn't the case?

True. But again, it was simple ignorance--as has been proven--that was speaking from the start.

Now that that excuse has been removed, we see pretty much the same whining 17 pages later. :crazyeye:
You really are a troll aren't you?

Bugfatty moaned about the system. We poor benighted Euros pointed out that in our opinion it was a flawed system and pointed out the benefits of ours.

You respond purely by calling us ignorant and throwing insults about. At no point have you addressed the points we raised, every post you have made is to the effect 'that how it is over here idiots'.

We can see how your system, um, 'works' (or not as the case may be) and to us the problems are obvious. Perhaps you'd like to actually discuss the matter?

Troll.

In a free market economy i take my custom somewhere that gives me the service I expect; and i'm not seeing it on this thread.

You'd still be saving $4.50 if you simply gave the $2 tip and paid the $1.50 delivery charge. (the typical amount for that kind of order).

Still I'd rather pay $15-16 for a large pizza than +$21.

Welcome to 'rip off Britain'. The cost of living is higher over here. If something costs you x dollars it costs us x pounds. It must be nearly a dollar for a pint of milk these days.

For me personally the main thing about ordering pizza's is not about going for the cheapest; other factors (like taste and proper service) come into play. You pay for quality.

Can you give me the link to the pizza-company you deliver for so I can have a look at what they offer ?

Thanks for your effort.
Tip: virtual cookie.

The delivery charge is $1.50. I get $1 and they get 50 cents (for nothing).

You can get 2 medium specialties and 2 orders of bread/cinnamon sticks for $19.99 and a 2 liter drink for $1 extra. I think this is the best deal you can get at Pizza Hut.

Great. You get a cold cheese wad that I used as a spittoon while I drove around delivering other people's pizza while I was supposed to have delivered your first.;) :p

I have trouble finding a price-list (like I posted 2 of earlier) or like the Dutch Pizza Hut webpage. Is that me or doesn't it exist ?

In that case I'll order somewhere else. (Not that you'd deliver to my home anyway. Would be cool though, free delivery to the Netherlands. If you'd do that you'll get a 45% tip, since that is far above expected service. :gold: )

tsk Rik, Only communists tell you how much things cost before serving you.

Thats the "official" menu. I guess you'd have to register for online order or something to see exact prices for toppings and stuff.

Hey you can register and then order a huge fake pick-up and then we'd all take home pizzas that night! But that would be conspiracy+larceny wouldn't it?

I found this. Gives a rough estimate of a pizza+toppings price at the bottom.

lolz. All this insistence that the US way provides better customer service and you fail when I look at the menu and can't see how much my meal is going to cost. *takes his money elsewhere*

We have our prices listed posted on the menu infront of the register. People who order on the phone don't have a menu obviously but the total is repeated to them twice inlcuding tax and delivery fee. My manager made me call someone back once because I forgot to tell them about including the delivery fee.
