TNESII: Et In Arcadia Ego

Well, the treaty will be confirmed when I see fc's agreement. PM's are being replied to.

From: The Uighur Khanate
To: Khan Tegus of the Horde

We have fought the rebellious tribes in your lands in honor of our old agreements. But, when those agreements were made, you were dominant, and now you are weak and filled with internal dissent. We will continue to support you, but our relationship is changed. You must pay US tribute, or we will leave you to the hands of Tver's armies.

To: Kingdom of Tver
From: Holy Roman Empire [of the German Nation]

We wish to remind your government of the sentiments voiced by the government of Sweden, sentiments which we share. If there are no negotiations between you and the Horde, we will consider ourselves bound to fully ratify the Treaty of Omsk defensive pact to protect the Khanate from unchecked Tverian aggression. We strongly advise that Tver comply before these requests become demands, and before demands are replaced by the use of armed force.

Πάλι με χρόνια με καιρούς, πάλι δικά μας θα 'ναι!

As times and years go by, they shall be ours again!

For many years we have whispered this between ourselves in the darkness, kept safely in our souls and our hearts, waiting for the moment to come. We have silently watched as the uncouth barbarian has cut down on our dream, forcing us into silence! Greeks, we shall be silent no more, for the time at our nation is at hand.

Rise to revolution, sons of Alexander! Rise, and to arms! For our nation with taken from us in fire and steel, and we shall win it back in the same way. Never again shall we toil again under the Serbian yoke.

King Gregorios II of Ionia
Citizen of Greece

Wake up, child of Hellenes, from your deadly sleep
Into which you've been sunk by the barbaric tyrants
Now, or never, your fate renew,
To which your enemies will bow to.

Now or never let's give proof to the world
That in these veins still flows Leonidas’s blood,
That in our chests we still maintain our pride in a name
The victor in his battles, the name of Alexander

Raise your broad forehead and look around you
Like fir trees, hundreds of thousands of heroes are standing firm;
A voice they still wait for, to jump like wolves among the sheep,
Elders, men, youths, boys, from mountains to the plains.

Watch on, shadows of highnesses, Pericles, Lysander, Justinian,
The Greek Nation, your great grandchildren,
With weapons in their arms, with your fire in their veins,
"Life in freedom or death!" shout all.

You were vanquished by the evils of your envy
And by your blind disunity, at Constantinople and Boeotia,
But we, whose souls were pierced by holy liberty,
Swear that for ever in brotherhood will join.

A widowed mother from the time of centuries past,
Claims from her sons today a helping hand,
Casting curses, with tears in her eyes, on whosoever,
In such great peril, a traitor would become.

Of thunder and of brimstone should they perish
Those who flee our glorious endeavor
When our land or our mother with tears in her heart,
Will ask us to cross through swords and blazing fire.

Didn't we have enough of the Serbian thievery
Whose fatal wounds even today we still feel?
Now they fly our own symbols above our land,
But we give witness before the Lord that alive, we do not accept it!

Didn't we have enough of the blinded despotism
Whose yoke, like cattle, for centuries we've carried?
Now let the cruel ones try, in their blind arrogance,
To take away our language, we'll give it only if we're dead!

Greeks from the four corners, now or never
Unite in thought, unite in feeling
Proclaim to the wide world that the Attica is stolen
Through intrigue and coercion, sly machinations.

Priests, lead with your crucifixes! Because our army is Christian,
The motto is Liberty and its goal is holy,
Better to die in battle, in full glory,
Than to once again be slaves upon our ancient ground!

I endorse this shameless ripping of the most awesome national anthem ever. It's too good of an anthem to be wasted on Romanians. :goodjob:

Withdraw your occupying boot from our sacred soil immediately.

To: The Kingdom of Tver
From: The Grand Principality of Chernigov

The Grand Prince and the Reichstag of Chernigov denounce the unprovoked and hostile Tverian assault upon the Golden Horde. Chernigov considers itself as a friend of the Golden Horde. We will not take lightly continued Tverian aggression. There is still time for the Tsar to withdraw her armies from the Golden Horde.

We are a grand state of many peoples, united by our Glorious Byzantine Heritage, while you are a misplaced oriental princedom long since separated from the true light of Greek culture and civilzation. Your actions are misled and shorsighted, and will not be tolerated. Withdraw your declaration immediately, we do not wish to lower ourselves to combat with figures such as yourself, Despot Gregorios.

-Emperor Stefan II Mašedrović

You tempt the wrath of Our people with your lies. You are no Emperor, Your state is but a corrupt imitation of the grand Byzantine state of old, and Byzantine heritage is not Yours to proclaim or keep. You are nothing but a barbarian brute, a fact that your thievery of the symbols of Our Empire and Our Legacy cannot mask.

Hello. I want to play in this. Could someone please tell me what is now open?

It depends on what you're interested in. Currently open nations include Norway, (somewhat militaristic, rather isolationist) Denmark (very militaristic, anti-German, allied with Tver), Ethiopia (warring Egyptian and Portuguese influence, culturally diverse, very moldable), or another NPC nation. Sicily, Oklahoma, and the Arbitrated Republic may or may not be open, so pick a nation and tell me if you're interested.

I would like to apply for Bengal

Granted.

Signed,
The Nancheng Emperor, Son of Heaven

The new Xin Ming capital shall now be Beijing, seeing as how I already reside in what is left of the Forbidden City and my old capital was burned down by the Manchu. It is clear that our capture of Beijing signifies the beginning of the end of a foreign ruled China, and that those who attempt to stop the Han from reclaiming their old glory will be crushed.

Just cut your losses and run away like the coward you are. The unimaginable onslaught of my armies will drive out any feeble attempt to stop the capturing of all your Chinese possessions.

We hope you took good care of our cities while we were away. ;)

What do you mean by this, we are concerned.

@thayli-Did you not carry out my south africa orders this turn?

I announce that I'm going to play as the "Repubblica Arbitrata d'Italia". Some diplomacy will be done later.

By decree of Shogun Yamagata Aritomo in the Name of the Emperor

In his wisdom the Shogun has proclaimed that a general amnesty be granted to all Christians within the bounds of the Empire. The military, police, and local officials are henceforth ordered to cease all acts of molestation and persecution toward Christians. Molestation is defined as disturbance, annoyance, and interference. Persecution is defined as the condition of being harassed due to religious beliefs.

The Shogun has proclaimed that Christians should they wish may come out of hiding, they will be granted protection by the military and police.

The Shogun is aware that the change of this policy may cause surprise, shock, and horror among the loyal Japanese populace. Fear not. All measures taken are in the interests of the Imperial Shogunate. Japanese citizens are ordered to comply with the decree.

As a sign of goodwill, Christian nations are invited to send representatives to confirm our claims.

Signed and Sealed,
Shogun Yamagata Aritomo
