First Italian trial in a while with no jury members getting horse heads
I don't understand what the big media fuss in the US is all about. Do you?
I thought Italy was a democratic county with decent legal system. Now, according to US media, it seems that I was wrong. Italy is apparently a country with medieval legal codes where influence is everything and people always get convicted of whatever crime they are convicted.
The trail didn't get any (or very little) media attentions in the Netherlands.
What I've read about it is that the only piece of physical evidence is a knife with DNA of miss Kercher on the blade and DNA of miss Knox on the handle.
From what I understand the other evidence is this:
Knox did a cart wheel just before she was interrogated by the police
Her nickname was foxy knoxy
she had smiled in court
She has 'cold' eyes
She posted a strange story on her myspace page.
Did Knox murder Kercher? I really don't know.
Is this evidence enough to determine guild beyond reasonable doubt? I think not.
I'm properly shocked and awed by the magnificence of the American legal system, which takes upon itself the right to decide even of lief and death, and was never wrong.
Never mind that our "good Italian boy" got a stunning year less than her. Never mind that no other clue was ever found. Never mind that Knox accounted herself by accusing a perfectly innocent African bar owner because, like, would the greasers ever really condemn me when I could implicate a black guy in the case [too bad he had an alibi]?
Oh yes, nobody in Perugia ever slept with her boyfriend. That must be the reason. And don't have running water, either.
Good thing that some Afghan warlord didn't turn the little angel over to the U.S. for a bounty then. The US media was so wildly pro-Knox that they blamed it on the Italian police's 30-hour interrogation, saying that a person undergoing such stressful interrogation could have dreamed up something like this and it wasn't Knox' fault.
According to alleged leaks of her prison diary, Knox was similarly determined to maintain her innocence - and may have been preparing to blame her ex-boyfriend.
She is reported to have written: "I think it is possible Raffaele went to Meredith's house, raped her, then killed her and then when he got home, while I was sleeping, he pressed my fingerprints on the knife."
In appears that after realizing her false accusation of the bar owner would not work, she's prepared to blame her ex-lover:

Wow, she's unbelievable.
Yeah, the knife is mentioned in the articles I've read about the case. The murderweapon had been cleaned but apparently not thoroughly. Her fingerprints were found on it along with traces of the victims blood.
I have no speciel love for the Italian justice system, but this time it appears they got the right individuals.
It's amazing how people will defend a convicted murderer if she's a pretty American girl.
There's a defense lawyer in you yet.I mean with all that media hype can you really say with a straight face that she got a fair trial?

Hope the poor girl isn't aware of your 2006-2008 track record. My prediction: she will appeal, the hype will die down, cooler heads will prevail and she will probably get released.
