TRIMAFIA [Game Thread]

End of Night Four

Two more proud patriots were found dead this dawn.
They were Double A, found with a rope around his neck and a bluish complexion, and Jarrema, wearing a turban like most of his countrymen, but with a knife through the heart, unlike them.

It is now Day Five. Stay tuned for choxorn's update!

There will be an update in a few hours.

OMGUS!

You promised you would explain this 'setup' to us. You promised you'd post an 'update'. If you were a real GM, you'd've done so by now, 'cos the rest of us do have the 'post update' ability. Since you've promised to use an ability that was vital for the town to be able to lynch any mafia at all, you must be a mafia mason infiltrating our QuickTopic. Especially as I didn't post any reason for my vote and you caved immediately under pressure, not even noticing the lack of arguments in an obvious probing vote. You failed the flinch test.

Everyone: vote for Choxorn to be lynched.

It turns out that the GMs were all Serial Killers and Ninja was the real host all along.

go town!

(in fact, this game was too complicated for me)

Beginning of Day Five

The town awoke to find themselves in a strangely familiar place. They quickly recognized it as the place they had been to a few days ago, the place with all the weird glowy portals and random space battles.

They noticed a few big differences, though.

Difference the first: There were a lot more portals. They could easily count 25 floating around in the sky, way more than there were a few days ago. The portals also seemed to be lasting longer before fizzling back out of existence again. This had the effect of making this strange place glow much more than it did the last time, and it was starting to make the whole place look like they'd taken a little bit too many drugs.

They also noticed that they were standing on a bit of ground that had decided that staying grounded was too mainstream and floated up into the air. A bunch of other bits of ground had evidently agreed, as they were in a sea of floating islands. Hopefully, the one they were standing on wouldn't decide that floating was now too mainstream and go crashing back to Earth.

One of them decided to look over the edge of the island and see how far down the ground was.

Answer: So far down that they couldn't see it, as there were a bunch of clouds in the way. Also, there were a few ships in the way, fighting apparently another epic space battle, only at ground level. These ones didn't appear to be of the Space Dolphins or Sharks, though; in fact, they looked like a strange assortment of ships that might possibly be from science fiction movies. A few looked like Imperial Star Destroyers, a few looked like random anime giant robots (and even looked cartoonish!), and one was almost certainly half the USS Enterprise and half that giant alien ship from Independence Day, minus the monument-destroying laser beam.

The town pondered if some of those portals might somehow be going to random fictional universes. The question was quickly answered yes, as they soon ran into, on the same island as them, a couple of random good guys and bad guys fighting, most from things that occurred in the early 2100's or late 2000's, which they would have been more familiar with. A few older ones, that they couldn't immediately name.

Deciding not to get involved with good guys and bad guys fighting as far as the eye could see, they turned around and wondered why there were no explosions as far as the eye could see.

They didn't find any explosions, but they did find a giant bomb in the middle of the island. Several people, some not fictional, some fictional, were trying to disarm it. One of them, who was instantly recognized as Batman by the townies, explained that someone had set them up the bomb, and the whole island was going to blow up if they didn't do something about it.

He said that they might be able to disarm the bomb if 1 person could mess with some things on the side while 32 people stood around in a perfect circle of MAGIC +5 BONUS TO CONCENTRATION AND BOMB DISARMING SKILLS that had been created by The Nameless Omnicolored Wizard/Mage/Porn Star and powered by the combined awesomeness of Chuck Norris, Samuel L. Jackson, and The World's Largest French Fry. Luckily, the arrival of the townies meant there were now 33 people here!

Question was, who would disarm the bomb?

It would have to be one of the 21 townies, as the other 12 people were too important to risk disarming it themselves. Yes, even Those Two Background Guys who don't have names and Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Film.

They'd vote on it. They'd have to hurry, as that space battle was getting closer by the minute.

We haven't lynched 11, and probability is definitely in favor of village night kills over scum.
Still odd...
Kennigit, though I'll try to look at over possibilities today.

vote: Visorslash

There are a couple of reasons behind this. The first is that he narrowly avoided being lynched on day 2. If he's scum, either in this game or in Zack's game, it's likely there's another scum out of Mat93, Terran Emperor and The Black Nigh.

We also have day 4 to look at. We saw spaceman's post outlining his suspicion of 3 different people. Who instantly jumped at this? Visorslash. It also conveniently distracted from spaceman's suspicion of Terran Emperor.

I'm not 100% sold on the idea of Visorslash as scum, but I feel he's the best lead we've got right now.

Your hypothesis is incorrect, if x is scum, y might be is definitely a flawed set of reasoning, that could apply to anyone in that particular set of circumstances. Mafia bussing partners happens more often then mafia saving partners.

Anyone who was second to for the lynch you could apply that reasoning to, hence one of the major flaws.

The contradiction that spaceman posted was sound. He picked up a mistake that was unlikely to be picked up otherwise. If anything, you should be thinking spaceman is scum, by picking three people (possibly one on his own team, its a good trick) and throwing them out. Mafia love hiding, and unless someone went digging/searching/knew that it was said, it would be probable that it was skipped over.

Regardless, you mention Terran as my most likely partner, so I'll Vote: Terran Emperor as he is as good as lynch as any.

You're barking up the wrong tree however. Current suspect for myself is Kennigit, but I'm happy to lynch both (or a third target, fire away).

My initial vote for the day was going to be on Terran Emperor. Reading through azzaman's post in relation to Visorslash has made me pretty tempted to change my intended vote.

Now what may in fact be happening here is a quirky mafia team tactic. Here is my vote, now here is a list of other potential votes I could make. Then scumbuddy comes in, chooses one of the other lynches (on someone who's less active), and boom both get free passes for a few rounds.

So instead of Visorslash getting to lead the charge, I will Vote: Visorslash

I'm going to vote: Darth Feather. Compare his play in this game to the Spaceballs game, where he was town. There's a pretty noticeable difference. That, plus all the aforementioned ideas yesterday.

 Hazard a guess I shall, methought when I read yonder story, that choxorn had rigged the bomb to explode anywaye, and so kille ye townie whom'd be tryinge to deffuse it.

my math is a little off because I used 30 (I swear I saw a list that only was 30....).

I'll eat the lynch if need be. I got no leads and it is true that it seems random candidates is way under performing what I think it should be at. 5/32 per game is .399 for P(A u B u C)
(5/32) + (5/32) + (5/32) -3*(5/32)^2 + (5/32)^3

instead of what I said for 1/6 (.42). I'd guess a like 5/4/5 though ((5/32) + (4/32) + (5/32) -2*(5/32)(4/32) - (5/32)^2 + (5/32)^2*(4/32) = .377)

Are you sure that choxorn's game even has scum?

That's unlikely Spaceman. I'd put money on Takh's game being straight vanilla, he is hosting at the org and his midsems.

Anyway, almost no-one is talking, even if you are confused just post here and we can try and sort out the source of the confusion. It really is a simple game, that appears complex. In fact it is highly likely to be vanilla in all three games simply to ensure that it is as simple as possible for everyone.
