..and the oscar for best actor goes too.....

David Cameron is Tony Blair in disguise. He has been carrying out a centre left agenda for his entire tenure. As a god fearing Englishman, guided by the principles of common sense and justice, it makes me sick.

Really? What are you basing that on?

As a god fearing Englishman, guided by the principles of common sense and justice, it makes me sick.

Well, that justifies everything then, doesn't it?

Quackers, please use the preview function and read your posts through, it looks as if you were on drugs when you call David Cameron a centre-leftist.

It's all a matter of perspective, Takmayo.

bhsupmayo, I appreciate your contribution, but Quackers is referring to the Conservative Party as leftists. And if Quackers is on drugs I want to contact his supplier, I want some of that stuff too.

Apart from the characterization of Tony Blair as centre left, I do agree there's not much to choose between them.

And you're god-fearing, Mr Q? I didn't know that about you. Which brand of god is it that you fear?

Lee Rigby memorial will not bear his name

Political correctness probably got to this too. God forbid you include the victim's name, it might turn young impressionable Muslims into terrorists!

Why would you want to include the victim's name? The family don't seem to mind the current plan...

The soldier's widow Rebecca said: "I know St George's Chapel and it is a peaceful place and I think the memorial proposals will be fitting."

His mother Lyn said: "I support the council's plans and will feel able to visit the memorial in the chapel."

If I intended to make a memorial for a dead soldier I would include his name. It's common sense.

The family were probably patronised and broken down by politically correct council workers into accepting a neutral, Muslim-friendly memorial. :vomit:

I reckon if you put his name down, in a few weeks you would have graffiti over it "dirty kafir deserves it" stuff like that. In the interests of a vibrant and diverse multicultural society, it is better to hide that and pretend we all love one another. I can smell the rot.

Is it just me or is the worst thing about that BBC article is the fact that they published the killers' faces and names?

Isn't that exactly what you shouldn't do in order not to encourage copycat incidents, but we still do it anyway because, uh, ratings?

The family were probably ....

Quackers doesn't rest at wanting to use the victim's name for political purposes. The family needs to be there as well. You are very UKIP Quacky baby.

Your opinion doesn't actually matter on this issue quackers, the family's opinion however does, which is at odds with yours.

The council dragged politics into this where they didn't include his name. It is obviously an attempt to appease Muslims. I'm just pointing that out.
Now his name isn't on it, it has ceased to be a memorial for Lee Rigby.

Britain, the only country on earth where you cannot memorialise a dead soldier because it would be hurt Muslim feelings

Good point, but then we don't usually hide the names of other criminals - bank robbers, school shooters and run of the mill murderers are surely just as likely to inspire copycat incidents. Furthermore, I think you've taken that risk once you report the story - I don't think ideological killers are entirely motivated by the hope of being posthumously famous. If we didn't report it at all, then it would probably reduce that risk, but I'm not sure I'd like to live in a place where thing like that happened and they were kept on the quiet.

Not including the victim's name seems odd but then I can imagine that the family would have wanted to keep the memorial for people personally connected to him - this way, if you're not quite closely involved with the family and the area, you probably won't know what it is. I can understand why they wouldn't have wanted to turn it into a site for skinhead pilgrimages or a focus for right-wing politics...

Now you're joking, right? Or are you seriously suggesting (along with your bizarre notion that Cameron is centre-left) that a presumably Anglican burial site is going to start removing names on headstones simply to placate Muslims??

Why are you even suprised, Quacker's open dislike of muslims has been evident for some time, it's not shocking really to see him go on about a conspiricy to appease muslims.
