A half dozen turns played this week, most seats vacant. Anarchywrksbest and I didn't have the heart to exploit all the no-shows, after Narz vanished. Maybe we'll start from an earlier save next week?

Well, last Sunday was quite frustrating. I got disconnected and kept trying to reconnect but the game wouldn't let me. I have no idea what happened! Sean and NRK, I Instant Messeged you guys on ICQ numerous times, finally I just gave up, its pretty frustating when with only three people you still get massive connection problems.

So whatever happened to GenSwartz (aka Cheif Rick)? I hope he is still among the living, I notice he hasn't posted anywhere in awhile.

I admit, my heart hasn't exactally been in the game the last couple of weeks but I do want to continue. If someone will send me a save from this Sunday I will do a writeup of the last two weeks.

To Sean and NRK : even if its just the three of us to the end I still want to finish out the game. It would be a shame to disband it after all our time and NRG.

Well we played on a bit with Flowslikelava. Both you and I were disconnected at the same time but I got back in. You say you IM'ed us but we saw nothing and we waited half an hour?

I to want to continue and with the 3 of us it will be quicker

narz, since u referred only to sean and nrk... to me it kinda seems as if u do not to count me in anymore finsihing this game... while i have missed only last one so far, and which i announced beforehand too... dont know what to really think of this... or maybe im too touchy?... could be, i ld be the first one to admit...

I really did IM you guys, I must've IMed Sean about 10 times, maybe my connection was severed and ICQ didn't alert me, I don't know, sometimes my damn cable modem just decides to screw up on me. I'm sorry if I kept anyone waiting.

It certainly did me no good to miss out, I'm sure the AI abandoned my wonder and made peace with my enemy (the Germans).

Mignonne, I apologize, I did not mean to exclude you, I hope you can make all future matches, it will be good to have you on board!

I have a save file but we did play on a few turns. But I usually save every few turns in case of an emergency.

We didn't play long. Flowslikelava only got one turn in, maybe not even that. I'm not sure about this, but I suspect his connection attempts are buggy. The AI did make peace with the Germans and abandon your wonder, Narz, also becoming "hostile" to the Romans, and no doubt churning out archers and chariots. Nothing really happened, though. Because the session was so short-lived and underattended, I'd suggest just restarting from last week's save, attached. Either way - bad news - I have to work this Sunday!

If there are only one or two people who can make it then perhaps we should wait until the following Sunday (September the 8th). I really hope this tourny can be revived somehow. Hopefully GenSwartz will turn up in that time. Ups to everyone who has been down since the beginning. The tourny will not die! I just have to work tomorrow also. I hope to see everyone on the 8th. Anyone who is interested in the tourny please inquire on this thread and also perhaps anyone who is definetly going to play on any given Sunday should post a couple days in advance so we know who we are expecting and can start right away at 1PM (6PM GMT). Thanks to all for your paticience!

Well folks, I know this is my 2nd or 3rd miss in a row. But unfortunatly my life is very hectic right now. I got a lot of things I got to straighten out. If theres enough people to play out the game please feel free, I don't want to promise anything for next Sunday seeing as that I've been a little unrelyable lately but I do want to get back into this, but unfortunatly I have to prioritize certain things over Civ sometimes (I know, its an unfair world). If you guys go on without me let me know how it goes! Take care.

Well folks, I am back online!! I had a bit of trouble with AOL, so now I am on Verizon.net. What really blows is I had a good civ going . Anyway, I am about to try to catch up on all that I have missed. I didn't read any previous posts yet. Going to start now. It's good to be back and hope to play some civ soon......

Ok.......I have caught up on all the posts from this thread. First, I would like to apologize for my lack of hosting causing any problems. It was a situation that was totally out of my control. The bad news is, I don't think I can host now either. I have been exiled to the land of dial-up connection for the time being, and therefore don't know how well my machine will host. (Or play, for that matter!!). The best connection speed I have had yet is 28800 bps....s..l...o..w...............But I am willing to try. I at least want to try to play, even though I am sure that the AI has absolutely raped my civ. Hope to see you all on sunday.

I am fine either way, this tourny had problems right from the start but with the AI taking over for various Civs at various times and the confusion about starting location and which tribe to pick eliminated the "level playing field" a bit. Still, we've put many hours into this so perhaps we should finish. I apologize for missing these last few weekends, I am trying to get my life in order.

I have another map I made (normal instead of large) with 6 equal starts and one in the middle that we could use if we ever start anew. The question is (whether we play this game or another), who can make it each time?

I say we make a list each Friday (so people have some time to figure out their weekend) to see who can make it and who can't. And if people can't make it then we wait to play. Sure, it will take many months to complete but it will be a "pure" game and everyone will have an equal chance. I'm hoping all of us can agree on something. NRK, Migonne, Sean, GenSwartz you guys are the backbone of this game so if we start a new one we can structure it around 5 human civs (+ two AI who are always AI) instead of 7 possibly-AI, possibly human civs. What does everyone think?
