UN/Diplomacy Planning Thread

Btw everyone I think it would help to partner up too so there's internal discussion about how to proceed as a country. I know I'd like to have some help with the US so I can better understand the limosine liberal viewpoint. :p

Sure thing, anyone wants into the Union :shifty: is cool.

You're not the government and actually you're not the head of state. You're the ambassador of your country to the UN. And you're supposed to be the voice of your government.

So I'm a normal UN ambassador and it is assumed that I carry the authority of my leaders? Sounds good.

I'm sorry for temporarily being an idiot and forgetting that presidents aren't representatives to the UN. :(

Old Spice- Definitely. Is there any idea of when (or what number) we'll cut off new nations being inducted?

This thread is precisely to discuss that kind of things.
My guess is that for simplicity's sake, we should let Whomp make the call. I would have to waste time trying to accomodate everybody and listening to everyone. What we need right now is an authoritarian dictator who's taking decisions fast :)

Well after a certain point nations will have to be voted in, but I think we will allow at lest 10 nations to sign up before that point is reached.

We've already got 11 participating nations.

OK then we can set the cut off point at 20.

Whatever you all want. The more the merrier. It would be nice though to get the major nations in. So many 3rd world dictatorships and so few Western nations.

EDIT: By Western nations, I meant to say influential nations. Forgive my faux pas of thinking that only the Western nations were influential.

Well if we have to many there wont be any members to affect the decisions of the country, so maybe we should cut off at 15.

we could be swamped with countries by then...

OK added you guys.

We should wait till tomorrow before we shut off countries since Asia, Australia and most of Europe hasn't seen this yet.

I think we need representatives for India, China, Japan, Australia and some additional Middle Eastern, Asian, South American, European and African representation I'd think.

Well, it would be more interesting; nations could curry favor with us by giving us official recognition. We're certainly more stable and in control of a country than say, the Somali transitional government.

I, the UN representative of Norway, hereby nominate myself to the position of UN secretary general.

I do this because Norway is a neutral nation with a good intenational reputation and skilled diplomats. Our dedication to foreign aid show our international comitment.

We are therefore able to negotiate with all parites in a conflict, hastening the securance of a treaty.

Signed: Arne H D
