How about a graphic for the C.S.S. Hunley and C.S.S. David?
It would make a neat unique unit for some of the Confederacy mods coming out, and would give the C.S.A. something truly unique. Confederates did a lot of research and experimentation with submarines and 'decks awash' torpedo boats, and several designs that were light years ahead of their time emerged- among the better were the two mentioned above.

Hunley would be a fairly easy model to make- she's a flattened cylinder with both ends tapering to vertical edges, and has a simple cylindrical screw guard and rectangular rudder- illustrated perfectly on the more advanced but less successful Pioneer (shown for reference).

The Hunley would make a great unit for the Confederacy to use to defend it's coasts from blockaders (as it was historically designed to do). Given invisibility, first strike and an attack of 6 or so, it would have the run of ships sitting stationary in a blockade; balance this by a movement of, say 2, and a defense of 1 and it would be a useful but limited weapon... perfect for sneak attacks against wooden ships, but utterly useless against a moving target or a more modern ship. Also, it would be limited to coastal waters- because men cranking on a handle get tired quickly.

David is also fairly simple in shape, though it needs a lot more parts than Hunley could get by with and still look good... not to mention needing a functional smoke stack (though I'm sure that could be cribbed form elsewhere).

The David would also be limited to coastal waters, due to low freeboard and the resultant risk of being swamped. She would have a rather high attack (again, about 6) and ability to withdraw... but would also have no real defense rating, relying on it's ability to withdraw from combat to survive a bad situation. Basically, if you can 'catch' it, you would be able to kill it, but she's generally fast enough to get away from something that isn't really strong or able to attack her first.
 
I did not post for a long time, but after Smitty releases his great railroad artillery, there is one last request of me open: Could anyone create a soldier on skiers? He need not wear the skiers at his feet, I would be also glas if he is simply wearing a backpack with skiers ans skisticks on it.
 
As a skier, I can tell you the parlance is "skis" and "poles", not "skiers" and "skisticks". :lol:

Sorry, as an avid skier I had to speak up. Don't be offended or take this personally in any way, I do this all the time and mean nothing bad by it. ;)
 
I'd like to see reasonable polycount models of the F-22 and T-90. The current F-22 has an astronomical polycount, and of the two T-90 models, one is rather poor quality and the other has way too many polys.

In the F22's thread, I shaved off many polys for phungus420, reducing it under his 2000 poly limit for LoR. I might be able to do the same for the T-90 (toss a link).
 
I know of that model, but it's still way too poly heavy. You could probably do a good model of the F-22 on the CivIV scale with 1000 polys or less. You'd just need a good skin.

I would also like to add an actual model of a Dhow. It'd be a perfect Arabian flavor unit of the Caravel.

1962 poly is too much??? Thats actually pretty good. Most vanilla civ units are over 1000 poly, so any 3 group unit is over 3000. So since planes are single groups, thats pretty average. You probably could do one for 1000, but youd have a really hard time making one as good as the Conquest's (plus it would be like double work making a new one). My computer handles 2000+ poly units just fine, and I almost guarantee that nobody here has a crappier computer than me.
 
I find there's a general rule regarding polys: If phungus420 approves it, it is an acceptable level of polygons. Especially considering that the F-22 was originally 22000 polys IIRC.
 
your new model is fine but it is not using eurocopter animation and the propeller is not rotating.

my old predator model (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=10784) has the best animation (for example dual attack with rockets) but is not showing up correctly in civilopedia.

Yeah I modified the wrong predator model. This time I modified the right model.

Unfortunately it still has the same problem of being to high in civlopedia. The problem is with the custom animations. If you were to put it into the game with no animation, it displays at the right height. You should notice that when you have it with the eurocopter animation, it hovers at a much higher altitude than all the other air units. I guess this is a by product of ataching it to the eurocopter ani. It can fixed but I think that I would have to go through all its kf files and lower all the control nodes. In the mean time, at least you have a Reaper model.
