Unit requests thread

Been looking for those nodes with Melcher's Arawak Spearman, can't seem to find whatever it is you said to change Saib.

If anyone could help converting Melcher's Religion and Revolution native units I'd appreciate it.
Well, they will probably have different numbers than for the Man-o-War. Just click on the unit in the right window and it should bring you directly to the right mesh node. However, some units consist of more than one mesh (for example there are two Hull meshes for the Man-o-War). So you should check for multiple meshes and if they are shaded, they will have to be modified I think.

I want to have a Plumed Archer like in AoE 2 and I think graphically that combo would work.

I think it may have been made already actually Hydro. Maybe by Danrell way back?

I checked, none of those nodes seemed to be shaded, what happens if I try using the Arawak spearman in game as is, is the weapons and head appear, but the body is invisible...im not sure what is going on here.

If you can find it let me know. So far I have not seen any Holkans with bows. The feathered hat is key to the unit.

EDIT: This is the closest I have found. I suppose to the Longbowman might work. Too bad they just don't use that feathered hat that the Holkan has.

I think in this case you will have to open the unit with nifscope, and remove the shader and the skin partition of the body. To remove the shader, click on the body. In the texts should be a tag namend "Has Shader" which is true - click on it and mark it as false. At next, there will be no node named skin partition. Rightclick on it and chose "remove branch", then the skin partition will be removed and the body will be visible.
If the body consists of certain part, this procedure has to be done for all parts.

Heres what I see in nifscope:

Under "Tri Mayan_Holkan 0, which is the node that is the chest area of this unit, I see

Under Block Details, then under that "Name", then down there is a "Has Shader", next to that on the left under "Type" is "bool", then next to "Type" is Value, and under that it says "no".

Okay, then you will have to remove the skin partition, too.

Click at the body, and a menu like this will appear:

Now chose the NiSkinInstance (Number may differ), and you will come to this menu:

Double-click at the number of "NiSkinPartition" and just remove it.

If everything was done right, there will be a "None" entry in this tag, and the body will be visible ingame.

I am using several of this units in my mod, so I had to face the same problem once. :)

I've nifswapped the Holkan mesh to the Archer unit and attached the result to this post, hope the result is okay. :)

I think that should be a good way to convert unshadered units. For shadered ones I would still first try to keep the shader by making a new skin partition, but if that does not work removing the shader might be a good idea after all.

Hm, yeah, I really should I guess, but it is always a bit less of a hassle to just post these here... Maybe when I have some time I'll try to upload all the smaller unit modifications I did over the last years.
 
Is there anyone around who is willing to reskin & add team color to Nsftpoeopas's Arleigh Burke unit? Please?
 
I am trying to make a UU for the Sami and want to have a Reindeer Sled.

I provided a non-animated Caribou model for the Reindeer, now all I need is a sled. I am not sure if it should be like an altered Chariot or maybe just use a Kayak base or even just a new model.

Could someone just make a Sami style Reindeer Sled? Thanks! :goodjob:

Note that it doesn't need to be animated. Just attach a sled and rider to the Caribou model.
