Unit requests thread

What R U talking about?

What GeoModder said is that if you want someone to be interested in making a unit you request it is sugested that you include a picture or two of the item you desire. Either in your post directly or in a link.

If you do not include pictures it is unlikely anyone will take the extra time to look up pictures of your ideas if you were unwilling to do even that work yourself.

Pictures give modders a good idea of what you want very quickly. As it is said in my country: "A picture is worth a thousand words."

Kinda surprised I haven't seen anyone make these yet...

How about Santa Anna's Mexican Army of the 1830s... would be the Musket/Cuirassier era.

Anyone want to do Cannon/Musket/Cuirassier for Mexico?

Looks a lot like the Dragoon from Colonization. If someone just dismount the dude...

Oh... I didn't really read the post :p
Even better then.

Wouldn't that be more of a Mexican Cavalry than a Mexican Cuirassier?

Also, someone should make some Spanish and Portugese Riflemen and Cavalry.

No, it wouldn't be... the timeframe (1820s-1830s) is well before the Rifle was common, and would be more closer akin to Napoleonic weapons and tactics then Rifle-using Cavalry of the late 1800s.

I always thought of the cuirassier as representing sort of a knight with a firearm, kind of like a Dragoon or what a lot of people would associate with a Conquistador. Between like late 1500s to around 1850 and then after that you would have the Cavalry unit in civ terms.

But I suppose it would be up to the person as to what unit they wanted to use. But still; that unit would look good and there are already some Mexican modules out there that could probably use some better units.

But anyway as far as the unit requesting goes; Spain and Portugese Riflemen and Cavalry. Por favor.

That's not a bad cut-off date... so what part of "Mexican Army 1821-48" did you miss? ;)

Yeah but if you are being general about it, which Civ is, the Cuirassier would be more prevalent earlier in that spectrum, there should be overlap; Cuirassier 1500 to 1850 and Cavalry 1800 to 1920. That's what I think at least, but again; it isn't important because ultimately it would be up to the person using the graphic as to where they would place the unit. The point is just that it looks cool. So the argument is moot.

i would a big costal gun :

TODT Battery : 15 inch Coastal Gun in Pillbox

picture :
coastartilleryfortress.jpg

information :

This is a coastal version of a SKC/34 380mm ship cannon which could also be found on the Bismarck and Tirpitz battleships as the main calibre gun. These guns were originally designed for use against battleships and other ship classes, but it was also mounted on Atlantic Wall fortifications. This unit here was part of the Todt battery and had the best possible protection. Its distinctive features included a huge range and firepower. The battery was invulnerable to most enemy weapons. This mighty gun had only one drawback - there were too few of them.
Einheiten Information

Maximum Health Points: 10000

Armor value:
All sides: 500

Crew: 4 men
Ammo: 200 rounds
Range: 630
Penetration: 500

This is for Civilization 4 Vanilla ( original Game) or Civlization IV Warlords or BTS (mod : World War 2)
Ps : Lindemann Battery have the same information than Todt but with 16 inch Coastal Gun
