@ cj; Bakuel's units are a :):):):):) to mess with, but I'm pretty sure (I could be wrong though) that you have to remove the Skin Instance from the part you want to copy first and then copy it.

You are right ! I already noticed this fact ! ;)

I already tried to remove the skininstance before but when I want to copy it inside the nitrishape I changed, Nifskope doesn't it ... It copies in the main ninode :confused:
 
So if you wanted to double-check it (I know you mentioned you didn't test it yourself) that would be great, just so I can figure out where the mistake was.

I've introduced a NiZBufferProperty, but no values of ZCompareMode seem to work right. I ended with a ZCOMP_NEVER which remove the ugly sea trasparency but disable the shrouds also. I can't able to do anything more.

Just when I thought I was finished with these missionaries, they pull me back in!

I can't seem to get this head to show up correctly in game, after my third attempt I figured I'd bring it up here. This should be an easy fix (although if it were I should have been able to do it myself), I have attached two images. One is the unit in NifSkope and the other is the unit in-game. As you can see in-game the head is either warped or doesn't appear or something. Can anyone help me out?

You should use the Druid_Missionary.nif file (not the other nifs) and I have also included the Head as a seperate file too (Head.nif). Thanks to anyone who helps me with this. :goodjob:

Btw the crown raises # of triangles dramatically. A 290 Kb nif for a single man unit is too high imo, but it doesn't enter in the head issue.

I've attached a nif with warrior head on swordsman body. Animations don't work into nifscope, thus you should test it in game to know if it works fine.

Here the result in game. That's too what I always get from the beginning of my tests on this file :confused:

I noticed too all the block of ninodes related to added stuff ( head, shield, skirt ) are like "stuffed" all together ( If you change something in one nitrishape, it has consequences on all other extra nitrishapes ... )

I followed the idea to export the head as an .obj and import it. But then, I can't paste any skininstance inside ... And so, the game is crashing when calling the unit.

So puzzling ! :crazyeye:

Yeah, the crown might be a bit too much, so in that case I might remove it but we'll see.

Seems that the head stays inside the body and it is pink colored, am I right?

I've just attached a 2nd nif which uses the head scale trick.
If it works in game, then you should tune head position editing rotation/traslation in node 66. Eventually try to parent node 66 with node 64 instead of 63 and see what happens. Let me know.

Hmm, now that I think about it I had planned on using a few missionaries from Rapture that actually use LH parts (like this one's crown), the Toetl missionary will use Monty's head and head-dress, the Olympic missionary uses Alexander's head, the Shaman missionary uses Sitting Bull's head and head-dress as well. So do you suggest I NOT use these and what real effect will it have on the mod? Will it cause MAFs or will it just run slower?
 
This is not so much a request as a plea for some help on a unit or at least some clarification.

Thanks to Ambrox I was able to get the religion spread effect to work for many of my new missionaries, but I can't get it to work for the Norse Missionary for some reason. I took it from the Rapture mod and I was just wondering if anyone knew if a spread effect symbol appeared in that mod for this unit. I made a post HERE that you can read to get a bit more clarification and see a screen shot. I am pretty sure I did everything correctly so if there is a symbol appearing in that mod I'd like to know about it. Thanks.

I can't state it for sure, but, as general rule, lowering memory usage (reducing size and number of files) is better than not. Otherwise you might risk MAF or slower run in the mid-late game. This chance is higher when you have LOTS of graphics customizations running into a large mod.

Your second unit was OK :) At last the head stays where it has to be. But the problem now is that it gives bigger shoulders and chest ( in game ) so , not very esthetic indeed.

I consider now this work in progress and changed the last persian units I intend to put in my mod otherwise, I'll never upload the update of my mod ! :lol:

Sometimes you build a workable unit in nifscope (making nifswap, switching body parts or weapons, and so on...), but in game it shows weird.
Most of the time this happens because the kf animations override the nif setup. To fix it you may use a workaround, i.e. insert into the nif a "fix" node as parent of the node that you want to modify, then edit translation/rotation values of it, being 100% sure that kf will let it unchanged.
 
The SLR rifle. I know I've asked for this before, but I would be over the moon if someone coul;d actually do it - looking back over the falklands war files (because work's started again) the G3 doesn't look right

I have quite a large list of units i need for a mod i am making. i am asking anyone who can to pm me and offer there asssitance if they want to help with a halo mod. other than that im requesting a Scorpion Main Battle tank and a Covenant Wraith. if pictures are needed i will post if asked. but you can find them on google with a click
