My mistake to not consider that we did not have our religion in Rustenberg. But we can starve our capital to size 7-8 to get two GSs. Seem cheap. We can also let it grow to size 12 during the golden age and then start to starve it. We would only need to starve to size 9-10. The capital only need five turns to get 5 GS if it grow to size 12. If we grow it to size 13 we can get the GS in four turns.
In other words. Start a GA now and grow our capital for four turns. Generate GSs by not starving the first turn. i.e. 12-13-12-11. We can go for a GM but it will not help us get cuirassiers faster.
I did miss it as well. Rusty or sloppy? prolly both, anyway... I guess you meant 2 GS (5 would be awesome though

). I'll go for this unless one of Fact or Awesome Venn can help (will have a look at the possibilities at the start of the GA, too lazy to do the math now), which I doubt.
I missed my chance to play tonight but I am free tmr afternoon so I'll play then. If anyone want to add something in the meantime, be my guest.
@Doshin: I agree totally about unis being useless right now, and also about HC being a tough nut to crack. That's why I insist on forges.
@Folket: I hardly see why a forge in Uzbek (indeed pomthom, we really need another name -> Samarkand or Bukhara would at least be proper city names, but we can do better) won't pay off. Whipped hammers get the bonus, and we will soon have access to improved workshops

We have 6 decent cities (none stellar OK), I would get forges for all of them. It's not like we will stop building things, and most of those cities aren't worth cottaging (and it's too late to start cottages now anyway for them to be decisive - remember Troy's wisdom -), so production builds
are the most profitable. Unless you meant for the next turnset only (sustaining research building gold)?

Whipping the market is not a good idea (I am not vetoing the market though, but I am still not convinced it will help us getting ride of HC, which is our priority I guess): we want to grow to generate GS.
Speaking of which, going for a GM seems a bit dangerous to me: it adds another polution to the GP pool and we might end up with a damn artist

And without Oxford/unis, it feels less powerfull than running scientists anyway (am I missing something Doshin?
prolly a lot, don't be too hard on me
).
Taj Mahal: I guess we can speak about it after this set... (pre-chopping isn't in order with our short workforce)
@pigswill, Rusten: don't be shy
@team: As SGOTM is over and he is in since the beginning, I am putting Doshin back into active player status, a 6 men roster is OK and more flexible for swap/skip.
