I really wish they hadn't capped xp when fighting free cities. The xp isn't worth farming but does add a little interest to dealing with the city state. Do war-monger penalties apply for razing a free city?

I have to say I appreciate this video: these developer updates will make a nice change from the deafening silence that generally preceded each patch before R&F.

Some good and necessary changes too, I look forward to giving them a spin whenever the patch comes.

I wasn't expecting one for several weeks yet (though I figured it would be more feature-rich)

Rapid is the way to do it, I think. You want to score the obvious fixes while people are still playing in large numbers. If you wait longer to add more, you run the risk of having your player base abandon the game to wait for the patch.

Hey Firaxis, if you're reading this, please hire the guys making CQUI, it's clear you need some help with that part of the game! I've seen lots of good suggestions on these forums for fixing and improving some features, too.

I'm curious to see what are the other fixes that will be implemented that were not mentionned in the video. But I'm super glad to see that CS's won't be beat in the first 15-20 turns of the game.

Please let it be Cede City management, pleease...

Also leader renaming...

Altough i think it would rather be minor balance or UI glitches

They did a 30 day patch after vanilla. So I had my eye out for activity. And it's been happening. There were many QA updates last week. The 30th day will be on Saturday, so the patch should be out Thursday or Friday.

Nice!!
Glad to see plans to strengthen city states
What is the warmonger loophole they are referring to, I wonder

Something about capturing a city that had already been captured, liberating it (for a warmonger penalty deduction), allowing it to flip to your enemy again, and repeat.

The patch looks and sounds great, especially the City states and Emergencies tweaks. I think they will tone down the bonuses for each polder to make up for the fact that you will be able to build more of them.

The update to Entertainment districts is much appreciated, I was only building them to be able to place wonders. The extra tourism and science from the Water park was better overall for a peaceful playthrough.

I've found that I build ECs far more regularly now in R&F. Mostly to run Bread & Circuses in order to speed up flipping my neighbor's cities.

I like the improved tool tip for the loyalty drop-down tab.

Just finished a culture victory with Mapuche. The water parks did not seem to add much tourism at all. I found them pretty weak overall, not quite what I expected. I also was not in a good position to utilize bread and circuses against a neighbor to flip them either.

If there is a better way to use them, I'm listening.

Can't wait! Now I wonder if I should start another game or wait until the patch comes out.

They could balance polders by lowering the yields, wouldn't be surprised if they did.

@Tiger Genocide - If you have one or two dedicated Wonder-building cities, you get +10 tourism on average from the Water park fully built. Granted, it is not much, but it does add a bit to make you go over the threshold of +1 tourist per turn from a foreign civ. I find it that the sooner you go over it, the easier the game becomes.

I just subscribed to the Better Reports mod to get more in-game info... I wonder if this update would've addressed the reports issue that this mod covers? I'm happy to hear that they are addressing many of the minor interface issues we've brought up since release.
