[MOD] v41 SVN and GithubDesktop Bugs and Crashes Single player

Yeah, what I don't like about it is that it stops showing the +1:science: but keeps showing the -1:science: (at tech you already have but isn't specifying that). At SOME point I'd like us to reconsider how to express this.

I think showing "with these techs X, Y, A, B has a total of K +/-" I think that might be too wordy, but the other option would be to show 0 if the tech nullifies the effect, +X if it adds to it, or -X if subtracts from the effect.

Or perhaps if you already have the tech that's adding a nullifying negative, then not show that modifier because it already applies.

Bad idea. Because prevents proper planning. I doubt you will open Pedia for every building to see all its effects and how they change with time. Therefore short description already present helps.

Hello everyone, good job on this mod! By far my favorite game

Since I installed SVN v41.1.3783, I'm regularly having sudden crashes to Windows (CTD) - things I rarely had until now. At first I thought it was related to the space map scenarios I was trying, but the crashes occur even with usual games.
I don't always manage to replicate thoses crashes after reloading a save. Last time it occured when hovering a building icon to display the tooltip.

Also some building requirement are not properly displayed (here for the skinner for instance)

NEVER overwrite old version of mod with new one.
Delete mod completely and install it.

Also you have old SVN, update to latest one (41.1.3823).

Also its very likely that modmods you are using are breaking your game.

Bark working, quote sound doesnt match with text.
Tanning, one word "thatched" doesnt match with sound

After a few hours of game on a fresh install (v41.1.3823) and a cleared cache, not a single crash. The display bugs also disappeared.
==> You were right! Though the only thing I had messed with was the latitudes change modmod, to go with space maps, and I believe I followed instructions... I will try these maps an other time.

I guess you used version of my modmod for V41 instead of for SVN ;).

Something has been funny with lighthouses and beacons for a while now. The beacons no longer upgrade to lighthouses, so I wait until engineering to build lighthouses. However even with engineering I can not build lighthouses anymore, so I check the pedia and there is no entry for either of the improvements.

Well he didn't rework them, he bugged them out. Well time to use world builder to place them.

The lack of upgrading is an unfortunate side effect; however lighthouses and beacons are now dedicated features on tiles instead of improvements (before, they were both improvements and features, did you know?). Now you can place both a beacon or lighthouse and an improvement on a naval tile that has both coral/reef plus resource, though yes you will need to manually improve the feature (as you would anyway for beacons outside the workable radius of any of your cities).

I suspect you were using obsolete naval units to try to place the lighthouse; ancient workboats cannot, but medieval workboats can (from recollection). Check the Worker Build Actions of the pedia - everything did seem to work fine for me testing, so I rather suspect the error is on your end or a misunderstanding of how the system now works (read the tooltips carefully, there are some changes).

I used a medieval workboat and the improvements no longer in exist in the pedia.

Don't have a save with lighthouses not working, I added them using world builder. Next playthrough if it happens again will upload. By the way why are there still beacons in the game? It confuses things, you think they will upgrade but no, so your stuck with an inferior improvement. Also when you click the tooltip regarding the lighthouses/beacons it takes to improvements section.

I figured out why I thought ancient workboats can build lighthouses, they can build one type of lighthouse. I misread pedia. Sorry sleep deprivation kicking in.
