VRA-01 ~ The Masters.

That works Admiral, the next player just needs to remember to ditch the Scientists next turn, and assign the GL in Boston.

Now, I'd say we can spare the Spearman in NY to hop cross the border and see what he has in the Holy City for a bit. Hopefully it's also lightly defenced, and we can take it fast.

List....

There's a warrior on the Khan's iron for that purpose. Run him NE

Alright, here is the report.

Micro Managed Boston to get Literature in one turn, and hit enter.

Saw in previous post that we should get Music after Literature so set research to that.

I made the suggested trades with both kublia and Monty.

Since Hinduism spread to Boston I revolted to Organized Religion to get the increased building speed for the Great Library. I continued the building of Swordsmen at Washington and misc. troops at New York.

Civ4ScreenShot0005-2.jpg

:egypt: 's Ramesses and Ragnar both got Hinduism spread to a city of theirs.

Ramesses then asked for this:

I saw no reason to upset the highest scorer of the game yet, so I agree.

To be continued....

I also thought I would look to see what he has available for trade. :deal:

Yeah baby, a higher Happiness cap.

I played 13 turns to get us to 120 turns. Here is the World as we know it.

The Swordsmen stack contains 6 Swordsmen, 1 Axeman and spearman is on the way (goto command). I started a another stack near New York with a Swordsman on the way (again goto command).

Boston:

As you can see there is only 5 turns left to complete the Great Library. I think we can let it finish on it's own.

The tech trade:

Civ4ScreenShot0020.jpg

I did not bother attacking because I wanted to get the Great Library completed before I declared war in case I got a nasty surprise. Also I wanted to take two cities at once with two really good stacks. I think we can take Turfan and Ning-hsia the same turn the Great Library completes. Send the troops on to pillage the Iron and make sure that Kublia does not rehook it up until we raze the two cities around it. I say raze because I do not think we can afford them at the moment.

*sigh*

And now Kubali's got walls. Blast it.

I really wish we had attack before, as we had scouted his lands and saw them devoid of troops...Oh well. Too late for that now. The Axeman is a problem, and I'm suspecting I'll lose 2-4 Swords taking Turfan now. Hopefully in land is still weak. As for cities, I'm partial to keeping every city. Next...no cottages?! Waaah. No wonder Music is taking 25 turns.

List....

1 - Vra...Finding his best sword...(UP!)
2 - Giaur...Scribbling away under the moonlight...(On Deck)

I wished we had attacked earlier too.

Anyone have/willing to trade construction? I'd rather go into this with a few cats/jumbos if we could. If not, start the war anyway. I'd feel warm and fuzzy if there was one spear in each stack preferably with medic.

Maybe whip a couple of axes in Washington to sacrifice against the walls of the evil horse lord? Then use the swords to clean up? We're going to see more problems from ponies than swords in the counter attack.

War is too important to be left to the admirals :crazyeye: Go gittem V.

What are we gonna do with the GA? Bulb or bomb?

If we can't trade for construction, i feel like we have to research that next just to get ready for the impending longbows.

If we can get Monty's map, we may circumnavigate the world...

And finally, (team sighs "about time"), how do we get shaka to attack Monty? A better scenario is of course for monty to attack shaka...

Okay, I played it...and it went well. Very well. Very, very well.

Unfortunately, I don't feel very well so I had to forgo pics (except one of the GL). Also, I played about 15 turns (rounded it off at 600 AD) as we're only at four members for now, we can as well keep it at 15.

I'll upload a report in a few hours, feel free to look at the save now though.

Okay, that was a crazy turnset.

I can't remember much, but I did mak a few points...

I traded Lit away to everyone just before I finished up the wonder and filled in alot of blanks with our Tech tree. We can build Monastaries and Catapults now, as well as Markets.

I then tried to save our Economy, and our science rate...How to do this? I did some emergency cottaging of Boston, and we went from producing 15 beakers there, to over 40 beakers at 100% science over there. We're now getting techs at 5-8 turns. We're at a erm...a "sustainable" loss atm. Lowering to mabye 60 70 % Sci would not kill us.

Monty turned Confu. Lovely. He's managed to be the odd man out.

I made a few trades...Rice for Clam and Pig for Wine with Egypt, our caps now stand a bit taller.

All in all a successful turnset. The war went wall, and we now own, Turfan, Ning-hisa, Beshbalik and Old Sarai. Only the capital is left...and its a nut. I'm going to suggest we sue for peace, take Code of Laws, and wait for 3-4 suci-pults before we storm. they have a settler in there, and hopefully, it will have left with a few defenders by the time we get there...Alternatively, we can whip a Pult in Beshablik, and get started bashing the cultrual defences down now, trading Music for cash to all civs to sustain our science rate. Oh, and Turfan needs to work the sheep.

We will get Metal Casting in 3 turns...and so, now its time for a team discussion.

What the hell do we want to do next?!

Options as I see them:

1) Make peace, turn around, kill off Kublai and razing New Sarai, (the re-declare will annoy Shaka more) then get some sucide pults and storm Shaka's lands, with an eye to the capital and a total victory. Research is Machinery/Engineering for trebs and Hagia Sohpia. Or, just Machinery then time Paper for when we get the Stone.

2) Alternatively, we can retreat out of sight of Kublai, get a few cats, take the capital, razing New Sarai and start improving infrastructure. Forges to start with lots of cats. Meanwhile, we whip a Forge in Washginton and micromange to provide a GE. We'll likely need to build Nat'l Epic to boost rate enough. This GE, would be used on building Sankore in Boston, allowing us to keep a stable science rate. Next, we should erect the Confu and Buddhist temples in Washington, and aim for a great prophet. Then, after our cats/swords/axes/Spears are in postiton, we strike at the Zulu, with an aim to total victory. Research is Theology/Paper for Sankore.

Either way, we need to raze Sarai as it steals tiles from NY and Ning-hisa, and well, I'd breathe better with Shaka dead. The Stone would rather nice too. We got the GA also...perhaps a Bomb or settle in the Zulu capital?

Thoughts?

Kublai has two more cities. I cannot see Samarquad. If he placed it on some island, it would be better to end this war now.

@Vra: What are the settings of this map? Fractal?

Two Continents. I have no clue where Samarquad could be. Oh well...

I'd got to disagree that it would be better to end this war now, as, even if we need to retreat out of his borders for a bit and build a few suci-cats, getting the Great Lighthouse would be a great economic boom, and to be honest, I'd hate for him to make issues late on. Who knows, he might even move out a few defenders...=)

:goodjob:

It is nice to see that delaying the start of the war with the Mongolians was not so detriment. I thought that Kublia did not have much in the way of troops during my turnset, so we afford to do a troop build up. At worst we would be able to take up to the two cities around the Iron with multiple strikes carried out at the same time thus crippling his response. It is nice to hear that this went better than that. I will at the save tonight and comment further.

Put GA in Beshabik. However culture grows slow. Maybe culture bomb would be better idea. Or lightbulbing Divine Right. But I did not know we will get GProphet. I leave you with GProphet. Let next person decide what to do with it. Lightbulbing, superspecialist or shrine of Hinduism.

In Boston started producing Palace. It's great city to run Beaurocracy.

In Washington constructed Heroic Epic. Production is not revelative, but soon we will workshop this city. After Guilds and constructing palace in Boston.

We still keep forward in tech.

Money are going down, but we will know Paper in 1 turn. And we will earn some additional cash. Or simply be capturing Zulu cities.

Well, I can't say I would have used the GA in that way...That said, turnset well played. We're going to need a few more cats (say three per stack) to invade Shaka. If we're coming up to paper so fast, it would be good to get the stone so we can build Sankore in Boston.

I'm partial to assembling a sqaud to take out Kublai once and for all though, if we can spare the troops.

Yeah, which is why I was pressing for his capital capture. The +2 trade routes would have been great. Oh well, we can line up a few troops to handle that when things get underway.

Hi, all checking in. IIRC, I'm up again. I won't get to this until tomorrow, so keep posting comments.

Do we have any idea where is Wang?

and constructing palace in Boston.
I'm pretty idiotic. Please explain why we're moving the palace?

I'll come up with some ridiculous plan, post it and then wait for a response.

Boudica, the medic 3 scout is interesting. I almost always make a cat my medic three.
