How do you mention "loudmouths" without adding thier king on the list?
Probably Rush due to his notable absence.Which king?
Great post! Pretty much sums up the op and is very true.Because if you're pompous enough, loud enough, and make sure you don't accidentally use tact, people who already agree with your conclusions will find you convincing and hail you as a visionary.
no, every culture is different. would someone like Palin have come this close to being 2nd in line in Belgium? Wouldnt happen here. Ann Coulter wouldnt get a letter published here.
you're wrong in that. Else, explain, Haider, Le Pen,... Populism isn't USA-only.
and you got the daily mail in the UK, don't you think they got An-Coulter like crap in it?
No, this "HUR HUR RETARDISM IS USA-ONLY"-party isn't going to last.

It is just wonderful, how we suddenly arrived to the conclusion that
(right-wing = populist and stupid)![]()
You thought wrong.
Isn't socialism about the common people? the peoples party?
Socialism being the people's party = fraud and propaganda.Isn't socialism about the common people? the peoples party?
Which in socialist countries are typically .... socialists. And in most of the cases today, they elected the socialist representatives into power, and continue to do so at every election.Populism is standing up for the majority.
Neither does socialism in many instances. It does not reject capitalism.
In western Europe, particularly in the period after World War II, many socialist parties in government implemented what became known as mixed economies. In the biography of the 1945 Labour Party Prime Minister Clem Attlee, Francis Beckett states: "the government... wanted what would become known as a mixed economy".[47] Beckett also states that "Everyone called the 1945 government 'socialist'." These governments nationalised major and economically vital industries while permitting a free market to continue in the rest. These were most often monopolistic or infrastructural industries like mail, railways, power and other utilities. In some instances a number of small, competing and often relatively poorly financed companies in the same sector were nationalised to form one government monopoly for the purpose of competent management, of economic rescue (in the UK, British Leyland, Rolls Royce), or of competing on the world market.

This. I know most americans cant be morons, they are the technological driver of the world, for the most part. but ye have to consider, over here, people like Palin, Coulter, OReilly etc wouldnt get past the interview stage to be a politician or a journalist. There just inst enough of a stupid audience for them. People here are too clever, and people here arent particularly clever.
Oh you are referring to the Populist Party. The populists of a century ago in the US sought to save capitalism from itself. Not to replace it.
The daughter wasn't sure either. "I think it's the moon."I've heard that in some versions the audience intentionally tries to give the contestant the wrong answer. However, it should be argued that the contestant should have known the answer already and not used a lifeline.
