Well, the title says it.
The various historical sim/strategy games are probably the most significant "other games" played by the Civfanatics crowd having much of the same appeal as the Civ franchise. They also lend themselves to much discussion and after-action reports and so forth.
There are tons of Paradox games threads in the main Other Games forum and the "Altered Maps" threads continuously get filled up with screencaps from various Paradox titles.
I think it is high times the likes of Victoria, Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis and so forth got their own proper subforum.
