Remember that monkey or whatever it was? I didn't participate (may have been a time when I wasn't on CFC so much) but we should do that again. I can even start it (I'll send one of my daughter's stuffed animals, she'll get a kick out of that). Anyone down?

It would be nice if the camera turned up some day. I risked a confrontation with a bobcat to get that photo.

Don't traumatize the girl. :p her stuffed toy is only going to end up held hostage by Californians.

I took a photo of my crowd from the stage of my most prestigious ever DJ gig. It would be nice if someone went to the post office and bothered to pick it back up and mail it in. I'd be happy to pay the costs too.

edit: this was the first camera not the second. what happened to it again? @Snerk ate it?

Maybe for a new attempt it would be better to make the pictures or short videos with a phone and mail a USB stick.

The first time was a camera, and it disappeared somewhere between Europe and somewhere else. With Bumbles the Yeti, there were two of them. I think Birdjaguar might have been the last person to post photos.

Here is the last post in the thread.

Why not just mail a post card.
When you receive it you take photo and Upload.
Then send a post card to the next person.

Then there is nothing to loose, a non responding person can be bypassed etc.

And everyone ends up with their own little souvenir. That's really not a bad idea!

Yes the post card would hopefully be something about your tow or you.

There was one year that Red Deer won the dubious honor of having the World's Most Boring Post Card.

It was so boring, it's never been uploaded to the 'net.

This reminds me of that Hitch Hicking Robot that was supose to traval around the entire world
He made it across Europe and half of America before being destroyed in a Republican south state somewhere.

Valka I would pleased to receive a postcard showing the courthouse in Red Deer or maybe some cats big or small.:)

You mean the City of Philadelphia. And I don't say this often, but good on 'em.

Which court house? We have two. The Old Court House was eventually turned into office space and small art galleries. I worked there for awhile, since the craft cooperative I belonged to had a small retail space there, and it's where I sold some of my 3-D needlepoint stuff. One of the women in the group had made a scrapbook of the group's history, and I eventually inherited it when she decided to give it up. Years later - long after the cooperative was disbanded and most of the other board members had died (they were women decades older than I was), I donated the scrapbook to the Red Deer Museum & Archives as a small part of our city's history.

The new court house is just a court house - nothing really interesting in terms of architecture, and it's certainly not a place I've ever enjoyed going to (had to on several occasions to take care of my grandmother's will and decide on custody/trustee issues for my dad).

The "most boring post card" was a photo of the front lawn of the Museum, several decades ago. I actually think it's a rather nice post card - nothing exciting, but not the worst one in the contest.

Everyone here has seen a photo of one of my cats; I used Chloe's picture as my avatar for awhile. As for "big cats"... nope. I stay as far away from bobcats as I can.

Or did you just mean generic cats?

This would only work out if we excluded anyone from CivFanatics from participating.

No offense to us but we suck at mailing things around the world. We've already tried what, 3 times?
That's the beauty of the post-card idea, you just skip the weak links. Everyone gets a time-limit of, say, two weeks to confirm that they've sent it out, the it skips to the the next person, and they get sent to the back of the queue.

It's not perfect, it still runs the risk of some people not receiving postcards, but it means the whole thing won't grind to a halt.
