Welcome New Members

Hello. Was told this is the place to intro one's self...
so here I is.
Babyboomer that's been playing/semi-addicted off & on to Civ since it's beginnings.
Just replugged in to see what's happening & perhaps find some hang-in-there, muture, more-than-shoot'em up opponents.
Probably have to resort to PBEM to avoid build-units-&-rush-to-crush games. Any up here?

Ahoy!

I'm Quinn Inuit, zombie hunter and modder of Rome: Total War. I don't actually play any of the Civ games--I'm just here to chat about ancient history. How are you all?

Hello all !
I had no idea that new parts have been made from that game lol so now i need to be educated since it seems like i cannot do much in that game anymore, and looks like im in right place xD

Anyway,greets from Estonia :)

Hi, all. First post-- I'm 45, been playing games since high school, including the board version of Civ. Played CIV I (DOS), and made it to King level after many sleepless nights. Civ II and III kicked my rear end, never made it past the second level in either. Now playing IV, BtS. Can't get past Warlord level with any consistency. I've made several passes through CF as a lurker, and can't quite wrap my head around the level of sophistication of most discussions. I keep waiting for the "How to...." book! :-)

Welcome all new members to CFC.

Figured I should stop lurking and start posting. I've played Civ II mostly, off and on for 10 years, usually playing Emperor level, although I own all of the games (Even Test of Time and call to power). I'm 48, and tend to prefer to play the "Democratic Turtle" style, although I have been known to destroy all but one civ when riled by the AI. I'm a big fan of mods, particularly those by Kobayashi. Tried RTS, but keep coming back to the TBS civ series.

Hey y'all :band:

@Quinn Inuit: You should try the "Weird/Funny Historical Facts" Forum

Hello everyone! I'm Camelot (mostly known as Sergio hehe) and i remember playing Civilization II on my Playstation 1 for the first time, around year 2003. By that time i was fascinated with RTS games, and i wanted a turn based strategy game. Unfortunately, Civilization II was in english (back then i didn't understand pretty good english) and it seemed really confusing and difficult to me, lol! then in 2007 i played Civilization IV and it was a lot better than Civilization II to me, so fun!

I'm not a good player, i prefeer to stick to the easiest levels of difficulty, i don't like playing just for getting better, i prefeer to have fun. So now i registered to this page to learn more about the modders and the fantastic mods they are updating, maybe help a little =).

By the way, sorry for my bad english, I'm from argentina, and to all the modders out here, keep doing (and updating) their awesome jobs!

Hello Civ Fanatics!

A short introduction from a re-addicted player. I've learned to play 1 in the very early 90's and played a lot of 2.
Never bothered to play 3 as i did not get the hang of it in the beginning, and 2 was/is great fun. But i discovered this site, got into the tips and tactics and played my first 2 games (88 and 74 hours). Learned more how the game works, an still playing my 3th game for more than 100 hours now. The fun thing is that my children play it now as well, lol.
See you around!

Hi and welcome :)

To found a holy city, first you have to discover a religion. You do that by researching a religion related technology first, before all other civilizations get to it. (Look at the technology tree to see which techs give you a religion.)

After that you can get a prophet to create the holy building for that religion. To get a prophet (which is a great person in the game) you need to invest into collecting great person points, usually from making world wonders like the oracle or the stonehenge. Once you get a prophet, move him to your holy city (it should have an icon of your religion marked with a star) and click the icon to create the holy building.

Hey all. I first got into Civ when I played the Civ Rev demo over XBL. At first, I didn't really like it, but the more I played it, the more I got addicted until I eventually bought it. While looking for strategies online I found the 2K Civ Rev forum, and after lurking there for several weeks someone posted a link to this site, and then I started researching Civ 4 and eventually bought it and now I'm addicted :D

Hi everyone, I just found an old copy of CivII and when I loaded it I got a "can't find Wing.dll message, so in my search for wing.dll, I found this site. Again, hello one and all!
