Well, let me put it this way: people almost always focus on their differences. I am from Brno, Czech Republic, so I make fun of those living in Prague. People from Britain make fun of the French, they point at the differences and ridicule them. On the trans-Atlantic level, Europeans and Americans often see only the differences between their way of life, mentality, values etc. and this leads to a kind of "alienation".
Let's not talk about it for a while and be positive. Let's find things we (North Americans and Europeans) have in common
