What America and Europe have in common?

We both love fat chics and fanny packs.

In Europe, nobody would know what a fanny pack is. In fact, in England you would make people laugh.

We both driver Cavaliers

We both have trouble recognizing our similarities.

TBH the thread's a little pointless, since it's quite obvious that America and Europe have more in common with each other than with anyone else in the world.

A distrust of communism?

In fact communist partys exist in most western european countries. And they do get a decent amount of votes from time to another (mostly right after 2. ww, when ppl where impressed with the soviet efford against nazi-germany)

Although Europe and America(U.S.A?) have a lot of differences, I think the following below covers it.

English Language, law, music, architecture, etc.
French notions of enlightenment (natural rights, rights, modern democracies, a form of individualism)
Food (except for the cheese, I mean)
Finally, another thing we have in common is that we both belong in "the west".

Warning, additional but metaphysical response!: We (as in, Western 'mainstream' society) both share Hebrew and Ancient Greek reasoning, in other words, our reasoning emulates Jehovah, Jesus, Plato, and that other Greek guy. You know, the gay one? o_o?

Law?! Are you kidding me? No country's legal system is more ridiculous than the US'.

"McDonalds made me fat!"

As do India, China, Japan ... and Russia (do Russia count as Europe?)

I believe yes, because the capital is in Europe. (This is how Turkey claims to be in Europe[])

Bzzt, wrong!

Ankara, the turkish capital, is in Anatolia, western part of Asia Minor.

I was referring to Common Law itself, not them being exactly the same.

Secondly, the McDonalds making me fat lawsuit was thrown out before it got to the court for being too stupid. It's just that the media didn't mention it.

I might as well add this for good measures..

Remember the hot coffee incident? That sounded stupid, right? Well, what the media didn't tell you was that the coffee caused third degree burns and stopped people from being able to work for months afterwards. And McDonalds continued selling coffee at such dangerous temperatures because there simply was more profit in it despite explicit knowledge it might harm people, and that McDonalds had rewarded people for the same accident a settlement amount before in similar cases; but heck, why should the Media mention that?

Most of the lawsuits that seem frivolous are actually pretty standard. It's just that they're generally distorted so the media can get their audience to scream, 'bloody murder'.

the Law is agreeably not the same.. but in theory it's the same.

Oh yes, how stupid of me. :crazyeye:

OK, they pass as European because they want to be?

We europeans cries to ourselves. That's what you get for cultural diversity!

Bah, there's more cultural diversity in my neighbourhood than in the whole of Europe. What are the cultural polar ends of European, Norway vs Greece? One group handles the cold better than the other, that's about it. :p
