Currently reading one of several books I got for Christmas: The Carolingians: The Family Who Forged Europe, by Pierre Riche (English translation).

I've just read the first book of the Earthsea series by Ursula K. Le Guin. Very good of a book. I've read a bit of the second book aswell, The Tombs of Atuan. The Finnish translation is very old (from 1978) and uses many words that aren't too common anymore in the Finnish language (But were back then). :)

I am currently engaged in Myst: The Book of Ti'ana by David Wingrove.

Principles of Bioinorganic Chemistry, by Lippard & Berg. Much more interesting but even harder than it sounds. :D I look forward to going back to Terry Pratchett, Phillip Pullman and Katherine Kerr again when I get this *&^%£(ing dissertation done and go back to uni and start reading for pure enjoyment again. ;)

Gone With the Wind - Margaret whatever her name is... I'm being forced to read this incredibly boring book for school...

:ar15: GONE WITH THE WIND :hammer:

The release of The Chronicles of Narnia prompted me to re-read Lewis' space trilogy. I'm currently in That Hideous Strength.

The curious insident about a dead dog at midnight. Very good read

"What's the matter with Kansas?" by Thomas Frank. Kinda like a more serious version of Michael Moore. Good read.

Im an insomniac- I read books way to fast aswell. Just finished 5th Continent by T.P.

Rereading T.C. Boyle's Water Music. Recommended for anyone who loves language for its own sake, it's also very very funny.

Salman Rushdie says:

"Water Music goes over the top and also round the bend. It is a book in the worst possible taste, serves no useful purpose and is crammed with disgusting, filthy ideas. Its title will make Handel turn in his grave. It stinks of gin and Africa. It also bubbles, or should I say Boyles, with life, language, comedy, energy and other forms of weirdness."

Aside from required reading for school, I am reading a book called "A Brief History of Everything" by Ken Wilbur. So far I am finding it quite unreasonable, although I will finish it because it was a gift and I will be asked about it.

Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace
