Im just doing this thread for fun. Im actually interested in the commonly held stereotypes of other countries about my country. This doesnt mean you have to believe the steriotype just tell me some of them! :crazyeye:

Wow no responses? I though this would be an interesting thread topic. :(

Americans have bulletproof-patriotism

The stereotypical American perceived from here can be summed up with Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin (sp?). That is: fat, lazy, stupid, selfish, and ignorant. But given that American popular culture appears to create TV and movie characters of this stereotype would seem to indicate that Americans consider themselves to be of this as well. (This is pretty odd because people from most other nationalities, such as Irish or Australia, are often nothing like their stereotype and fail to commonly produce these clones in popular culture unless intended to be digested abroad)

Yes very much i have nothing better to do on sunday!

By the way i hope most of these are just stereotypes and those people dont actually see the average american having a homer simpson personality. Really that guy is one in a million i have yet to see a real person like that personally yet. :p

While im at it just for the heck of it il list the stereo types americans have of other countries. Even though its off topic

France: French people are rude, arrogant and total snobs.

England: Jolly people who say bloody hell cheerio pip pip and drink tea a lot.

Germany: Beer and german sausages lovers? I really dont know.

Irish: Alcoholics plain and simple.

Cant think of anything else really. I dont know many stereotypes in other countries. Enlighten me what you percieve americans to think of you?

I still do that, and then I go wrestle man-eating sharks and crocodiles in the outback (don't ask me how they got there - it's that they are there that you have got to wrestle them) and then go and play a game of cricket. And all of this is done in that really bad "Australian" accent yanks do.

In my country Americans are a bunch of socialistic wannabe's. That is touting democracy and freedom while preparing to elect Hitlery as their next president via the (not state run but) members of the state owned or sponsored media. *sigh* When will things turn to the way it's supposed to be..... The Republic of Texas.
