Of course, assuming the leak is true (so Sumer, Scythia, Kongo, Poland and Brazil are in, of non-obvious civs).

Also, for some civs - assuming they won't be on release version (either Mongolia, Persia or Ottomans are very likely solutions of C5), of course.

I don't think this poll is too early - maybe early enough to influence Firaxis decisions "what after release" ;)

Even though civs like Poland and Brazil were on the board, it is possible (I'd go as far as say likely) that they are among the post-release DLC civs?

Ed Beach said there will be 18 civs in release vanilla version. With Aztecs it's 19. I'd presume next two-three would be day 0 DLCs.

Anyway, I meant post release DLCs [outside of sure leaked civs].

Mongolia is listed twice...

There is no indication that there will be day 0 DLCs (apart from Aztecs)?

I chose pretty much all the choices. I'm not picky as long as the mechanics are good.

Tamar of Georgia. Then the others
We already know Tamar of Georgia is B5. ;)

A Native American civ is the top priority for me--it's insane that there will be no indigenous New World civs in the base game (Aztecs, as a pre-order bonus, don't count). Assuming Persia and Babylon are not in, their return is also a priority.

assuming the leader portraits thread is accurate, The Inca, why no Inca? Brazil is lame. the Inca are so much better.

definitely Persia, its a good thing we might not have Alex this time because Alexander with no Persia makes about as much sense as Brazil before Inca.

Mongols have to make it in, you cant ignore the largest empire in history, not to mention Killing half a Civ and all the other massive achievements of the Mongols.

there's a lot of work to be done, I need 12-15 civs per expansion, plus awesome new mechanics of course.

I voted European civ since I'm hoping for the Celts, Norway and Iceland (would be a dream come true but I have a feeling I'll always have to resort to mods for that one).

Any confirmation that they consider the 90 day wait not in vanilla? I mean they are included in the base game, simply "locked" for 90 days to those that don't preorder.

I would love to see Canada this time, or Brazil again if they aren't in the main game!

Mexico-Leader; Benito Juarez or Santa Ana. The Commanchero as a special trade unit.
Great culture, tradition, people, and of course the best food in the world.

Canada- The Mounty as a special unit. The Hockey/Ice Arena for a unique building

Colombia-Leader;Simon Bolivar. Coffee as a special crop. The Para-Military as a special unit.

Anatolia(the Hittites), Israel, Phillipines, Australia as notable mentions

Why Iceland and Norway, and not Denmark? If for variety, why not just have Denmark under a different leader (as they were the leading viking nation, and for significant amounts of time, ruled the two countries you just brought up). I'm not certain those other two countries particularly bring anything to the game that Denmark does not either (besides maybe something climate related, e.g. snow tile advantages, but I wouldn't really say that was enough to justify including them over Denmark). Denmark under Cnut would most certainly be my top pick for a Scandinavian civ, and he hasn't been in any Civ game to my knowledge (unless he was in a civ game prior to Civ 3), and would make for an interesting civ based on naval dominance (perhaps based more on naval dominance on your own continent, as opposed to overseas, so as to be distinct from England).

I did not vote for having another European civ, because Europe is already well covered, and I would rather the rest of the world was more thoroughly covered before we start filling in gaps in Europe.

Also, why should we have Celts again? They are a really ugly blob civ in my view; I would rather they were called the Iceni in civ 5, and did not have Edinburgh as their capital (not even a city in the right country for the Iceni). I feel that Dihya of the Berber, sometimes called the 'Berber Boudica' , could have similar agenda and playstyle to Boudica, and could replace Boudica for the sake of variety, and that also would also be better for TSL maps.

I think that Iceland and Norway would be good ideas as mods (JFD made both of these for Civ 5, so I imagine there is a possibility that he could for Civ 6 as well). I also think that Iceni would be good as a later DLC, but, as I said, I would rather they covered the rest of the world more thoroughly before they added them.

Tamar of Georgia. Then the others

I actually think there is a very good chance of us seeing her at some point; the devs need only read a bit of these threads, and they will realise the excitement that the inclusion of Tamar of Georgia would bring.

I was thinking about Canada the other day. They've got to be the largest country (by land area) that has never been in a Civ game. Who would you pick for a leader?

The Inca, before anything else.

  • Was the inspiration of Civ6's spatial and geographic based mechanics;
  • Can fit a lot of niches (expansion, growth, building, economy, faith etc.);
  • Great true starting location for this kind of map.

I want South East Asian civ, like Khmer.

Ottomans and Incas would be good choices too.
