Is this a Prothean or a Tau ?

The helmet almost seems too small to contain a person's head. I wonder if there's anyone even in the suit?

There's not meant to be anyone in there. They're robots. :p

Indeed. But are they sentient robots or simply shells housing uploaded minds? Important distinction!

The heads seem bigger in-game.

They might be robots, or they might be cyborgs. Presumably, Supremacy will move through a cyborg phase before they go to full mechanization, and we don't know where this particular unit falls along that path. It's possible that the "full robot" units are separate units.

I'm curious to learn where this little guy falls in this hierarchy:

I think that little guy is the equivalent of a scout unit. Design wise, it has more in common with the look and feel of a shared level 1 and 2 units then it does with later Supremacy units we have seen.

It seems unlikely that, with the ability to build advanced robots, Supremacists would commit organics to dangerous duties such as frontline combat.

If I had to guess, considering the robot companion, I'd say that's a Supremacy settler/colonist unit.

Not entirely sure. The robe on the escort and the green things on the vehicle give me a Harmony vibe.

That would depend on if they give artificial AIs the rights as people and how capable in a combat situation the AIs are.

Hmm, good point but I still think it looks more like the level 1 and 2 cavalry units as opposed to Supremacy tanks we have seen.

Yeah, if anything, the rover thing reminds me more of Curiosity than anything else:

Early robotic soldiers could be remotely-controlled drones and not necessarily AI or uploaded minds. No way to tell, but I do remember one article saying Supremacy had robotic soldiers even on the first levels.

Thing is, the vehicle looks unarmed.

Maybe they will give us a bit more info on Friday...hopefully. :please:

I am not talking about that. I am talking about the red and white color scheme; Supremacy units we have seen have a predominately gray color scheme. The fact that, as Lord Tirian, pointed out it looks more like a modern NASA rover as opposed to a futuristic tank; just like the cavalry looks like a modified NASA moon rover. It really doesn't fit the style of other Supremacy units (it lacks the cyber-punk, pseudo-Tau look) we have seen but it does fit the style of the early shared units (modified and improved versions of NASA equipment).

What is Supremacy?
