I get my hearing tested at a local hearing-aid store every year. They do it for free.
I don't know what you're referring to me referring to.
I don't know why but hearing a song I like on the radio is different feeling than listening to it on my computer.
Other than the experiential difference etc, the one on your computer will often be truer to the original. Radio stations often add extra compression to make it louder va other stations or at least louder to pop on a bad old car systems. We have one really egregious one here where it will sound a lot more quashed and flat than the other stations playing the same song (and being the hits, you can often do a real time comparison). That said it helps the newish Dua Lips song with that funky bass line sound fatter.I don't know why but hearing a song I like on the radio is different feeling than listening to it on my computer.
The greatest hits is probably a remaster, which is usually technically a re-mix (not a remix) as well, which means they almost certainly compressed the song further as well as more distortion, reverb, EQ etc.Interestingly, I have two versions of a song, one from a Greatest Hits album and another from the original studio album. Despite them being the very same song, they have vastly different routes in Audiosurf (studio album is uphill, greatest hits is downhill). I looked at them with Spek and Audacity and saw a few differences too.
So originally this was going to be about your favorite letter sounds but then I decided to make it about sound/noise in general.
I like the letter X sound(s) and the sound of rain and thunderstorms. What sounds or noises do you like? Conversely, what drives you mad?
One is a gift received unexpectedly, the other is just something you are doing.I don't know why but hearing a song I like on the radio is different feeling than listening to it on my computer.
Well, that wasn't what I was referring to, so challenge accepted and failed.![]()

Not quite there yet! I don't plan on resisting them when it comes to it though. I have known elderly who try and hide their various infirmities and I think that only makes things worse for everyone, but especially themselves.Modern hearing aid technology is improving quickly and does wonders. Costco does free testing (takes about an hour) and you get a nice report of where your losses are. I use my hearing aids when I go out to restaurants and meetings, etc. and can control them through an app on my phone.

Truly, my answer is a baby busting their gut with laughter. Cripes, I smiled while typing it.
