But just an FYI, if you want a good religion discussion, start one with Curt Sibling, the Theologian Terminator, or Fox McCloud who would be the exact opposite. (Pious Poster, as a nickname perhaps?)

When these two get into it, stand back, things get pretty heated. They both are steadfast in their beliefs.
For me, I become more harden and steadfast in my belief if I encounter a fundamentalist athiest (An athiest who forcefully deconverts other believers and are intolerant of other people's faith in a deity(ies))

Unlike Fox McCloud and Classical_Hero (apologies to other believing christian that I forgoten ;)) who have religious education and have been taught the faith. I myself am still very new to Christianity since I only reverted back into it about a year ago and just reverted back into Catholism. Basicly I have been doing a bit of religious education by myself in my free time.

I'm an agnostic raised under the United Church of Canada married to an atheist Jew.

I strongly disagree. I'm agnostic. I believe those who claim to know there is/are no god(s) to be just as delusional as those that claim there is/are god(s).
I'm don't think the difference is what you seem to think it is - it's agnostics who claim that they don't know, or even that we can't know, about God - whilst atheists don't believe in God.

The terms aren't mutually exclusive either, of course.

There is no such thing as strong atheists and weak atheists ...
Agnosticism is COMPLETLEY diffrent form atheism.
Atheists say "THERE IS NO GOD."
Agnostics say "there are not enough evidence to convince us either side is correct - until we find proof that a God doesn' exist or that he exists we will stand aside"
Nope. Atheists say "I don't believe in God" - and this is often due to a lack of evidence.

Agnosticism is a different thing entirely - it's about a lack of knowledge about God, and nothing to do with belief.

Hm. From my perspective, I would say that such questions as "Is there a god?" can be answered three ways:
Yes
No
I don't know

Which imply
Theist
Atheist
Agnostic

That is my basis for my argument...
I disagree. It's more like:

Do you believe in God?

Yes
No

Which implies theism or atheism. And then there is a separate question - do you know if there is a God or not?

Yes
No

The latter being agnosticism.

It's a fallacy to suggest that agnosticism is some "middle ground" between theism and atheism, when atheism by definition is anyone who isn't a theist. Agnosticism is a mutually exclusive concept.

Christian - non catholic

Every time there is one of these polls they inevitably break down to a debate over which religion should have been included.

Given that the poll can have up to 20 options, I see no reason for there not to be 20 options.

Christian but no particular church Im a part of. I believe in God, Jesus, and various Christian elements of the Bible, but not really enough to go to church at all. If God thinks Im an awesome person, he'll know that going to a man-made building to be taught more about him is a poor idea for me, and that my firm belief in him and his Holy son Jesus should be sufficient to please him. I enjoy the world he spent so long to create (whether as a speck to eventually form a universe and eventually the natural formation of Earth or whatever) while everyone else comforts themselves in singing some lovely verses and gaining insight to God's/Jesus's love, caringness, and teachings.

I'm a weak atheist with vague Christian leanings. I don't practice religion, I simply act out of a belief that I do what I feel like, but it shouldn't hurt other people. I just follow the morals that I have been raised by, help those less fortunate, be tolerant of others.

I was baptised, but that's the limit of my religious experience. I just have to look at the violence of other religions and that keeps me from being religious.

I was always taught that the fellowship with your fellow Christians was just an important aspect of attending church as being taught. But to each his own.

They just didn't make it in time to get on the Ark with Noah.

I always wondered...
How did Noah traverse the entire earth and find all those animals anyway...?

And how did he get all the insects and bacteria? Did he use jars and a microscope?

Aren't fairy tales fun?

:)

I am an Atheist.

The Poll should have at least inluded a Sikhism, Taoism, Paganism and an 'other' option.

Agreed. I think if I pray for nice weather and get it, it would be a sin not to go for a run or something...and if that happens to be the same time as church, well...

The animals came to him, because God made them.

The real question is HOW did the kangaroos get from Mt. Ararat to Austrailia afterward?
