I saw The Shining a few days ago. The ending was strange.

It makes sense in the book, but very little in the film.

Recently (the last week) I saw the following:

- Les Triplettes de Belleville:

I've seen it a few times before but am consistently impressed each time I watch it again. The music, message, symbolism, animation and cultural insights are brilliantly conceived and executed. More animation from these guys please!

- The Curse of El Charro:

A crappy, low budget, American horror movie. Thing with horror movies is, even when they're crap, they're great fun!

- A Beautiful Mind:

It was on TV in Britain last week and I was still impressed by it, even though I've seen it twice already. This time around I noticed how the alternative treatment they came up with for Nash (letting him hang out at Princeton) was infinitely better for him than the electro-shock therapy. I was also more interested in the comments on Nash's Equilibrium, which I wasn't before, and how he developed it from playing games like 'Go'.

- Volver:

Almodovar's latest. It's very good, especially the script, and creeps up on you. Not as densely packed with grotesque humour as his films normally are, but there were still some priceless moments. It wasn't as visually interesting as one would expect, but that wouldn't have been appropriate for this story. However, if you've seen or read Henrik Ibsen's "Ghosts", you will notice that Volver's story is an almost exact carbon copy of it. :scan:

Went to see that one with great expectations, but gotta say, I just didn't buy it. And I got bored with the music sooner than later.

I watched The Wedding Crashers last night. It was a fun film.

Serenity has been on HBO this month. Everytime I flip to it I can't help but watch it...

Left Behind, some film about the Apocalypse. It was ok, but nobody else liked it. It was sort of cheesy if you really think about it though. Perhaps some of you all have seen it...

I saw Sin City just now on HBO.
Simply brilliant.

I saw Control Room, the movie about controversial news channel, Al-Jazeera. I thought it was quite good, especially the war footage.

My girlfriend got I Heart Huckabees in the mail (Netflix), the title sounded dumb but the movie was suprising decent, likeable even (if you like Etenral Sunshine / Being John Malkovitch type of movies :)).

I just saw armeggedon while working yesterday. Its a good movie it made me cry.

I can't stand Armaggedon, mostly because I seem to know more science than them. But hey, whatever.

I haven't been able to cry over a movie in a very long time - I think this inability is a sign of weakness on my part. The closest I came was the last Harry Potter movie, right when that one guy dies.

Watch a movie called Mr Holland's Opus. Perhaps you'll cry.

Jackass: Number Two. Hilarious, partly because everybody in the theatre was drunk aswell.
