Male librarians. By the way, my first official paying non-agricultural type job with a paycheck was as an assistant in a library.

Computer Programmer, or basically anything which involves a cubicle and a computer.

Math proffesional perhaps (involved in research, not so much secondary education). Mostly due to the percentage of them being autistic.

Although there were many different types of mathematicians, so it is myth yet again. Compare for example Pascal with Gauss. Not much in common as personalities :)

Administration is not Nerdy, In my experience administrators are usually a little more intelligent than average and very anal, it varies but most are pretty much bureaucrats with a fixation about power, there are a few who break the mould, but they usually get promoted to upper management, leaving the stereotypical jerks in middle management.

Of course this doesn't apply to CFC as the role is voluntary and it's not the same thing, but administrator in industries generally are of limited creativity and intelligence. Ie you wont find many exceptionally intelligent people except at the upper management or top levels. That said though it depends on the industry, if it's a factory manager, probably pretty average bureaucrat, if it's an administrator for NASA then he's a colossal nerd anyway(scientists are generally) :)

I agree about librarians. I know too many lecturers, research people, engineers that buck the nerd trend. Librarians however is lalways low paying and therefore only a nerd kind of person would apply.

Any job in the hard sciences, engineering, IT, or mathematics.

You know, I don't see how that is an insult. It's a compliment, if anything.

I guess I´m considered nerdy - PhD in technical chemistry - but when I came to University I was astonished how normnal people in natural sciences are- Compared to Jurists and people from the Business Universities - they are really scary!!
