What should the dog be called ?

Now there is a bit of fur flying over the name of the dog, should it be called what it's boss called it or should the name be changed ?
Would you be offended with the use of the dogs real name ?

Because that was the dog's real name. I had a cat named Blackie. It was black. This dog was black, and had the Latin name for black. Hooray PC!
