I don't know how you guys tolerate sharing mobs, especially quest mobs, with everyone else.
Sharing the world with others is the point of a MMORPG, what can I say ?
Current WoW has a "every mob is shared" mechanism : as long as you hit the mob, you get the loot from it, like everybody else.
The result is that nobody needs to take into account the existence of anybody else and it's a completely antisocial experience. Mob tagging is an essential mechanism of a MMORPG, even if it can be annoying.
Best thing about SWTOR, besides being able to completely solo it and never once communicate with another human being, is that quest areas are largely party-based. You don't share necessary mobs with the plebs.
SWTOR is just a glorified single player game that should have gone all the way, considering the only fun part are the solo ones.

I'm sorry I'm just really not into fantasy games, movies, books or TV shows. Star Wars is the closest to fantasy that I typically get.

I have to admit, though, I've gotten really burned out on the usual, pseudo-European, sword n' sorcery thing. I played Skyrim for a while, but I just couldn't get very far because of the setting. otoh, the first-person Fallout games I played until I couldn't lift my arms anymore, and they're practically the same game, in different clothing.

Oblivion had the same pseudo-European setting, which is weird because some of the lorebooks actually described Cyrodiil as a jungle. They came up with some crazy stuff to justify the retcon.

I've got to agree with You two . Morrowind still have the best setting of all TES games in my opinion. I wish they could release a new TES game there. I yearn to revisit Lorkhan heart in Red mountain ! :D

Have you seen OpenMW?

I mean, I don't play MMOs like they're meant to be played, but I'd figure everyone would be in agreement that just waiting and hoping a mob doesn't get sniped ahead of you is a pretty trash mechanic.

it does suck, but it is needed because it forces the social aspect. people group up ALL THE TIME now, which is beautiful, since otherwise they wouldn't get any quests done. I honestly think that's the "gist" of WoW anyway, everything else is just.. there. I like grinding, questing, professions, but the reason I'm playing WoW over other RPGs is because of the fact that you have to be social in order to do some things, and that you can also choose to be antisocial (but you'll pay for it.. eventually. with a bad reputation). makes everything seem more meaningful.

morrowind for me is pretty much an almost perfect game. it does have flaws, but when it's good it's so goddamn freaking good.

that's the reason I still play it after more than a decade.

No I have not yet seen it . Thanks for the heads up ! It does looks interesting. When the nostalgia gets the better of me I'll revisit the Red Mountain ! :D

So anyone up for buying dwemer junk ? :mischief:

It was always fun having to throw all your skooma onto the shop floor before anyone would buy that dwemer junk from you.

That and the traveling ;) Morrowind was the only game You could literally jump from town to town if You were so inclined :D

One of the first things I always do when starting a new game is go find that guy who splats down on the road and take the banana hat from him.

Yeah that guy is a legend ! ^^ You know when I've performed ultra jumps on my old computer I got a hack-of-a-lot loading screens. Nowadays I'll probably enjoy the breeze until I'm comfortably splat in the center of Balmora ! ^^

Go to Balmora they say , why walk whan You can jump I say ! :D

I took a wrong turn once and ended up in Vivec City. So I did some quests, and in one of them I ended up getting a cool set of Indoril armour. I put it on and then made the mistake of talking to one of the Ordinators.

Whoops.

hahaha I remember those Indoril bonemeal heads were always so easily offended ! :D Now if You'll excuse me I'm gonna have to search my stash of old games . There's bound to be a copy of Morrowind in there ! Maybe I should cast that "find magic item" spell

Failing that, you can always buy it from GOG, which is clearly the superior choice. Either that or you can hit me up for one of my five hard copies.

I may have had a problem at one point in time...

Hmmmm...do I want intrusive DRM with my game or not...that is the questi...wait, no, that really isn't a question, is it?

Meanwhile, to add my two cents, I have played my share of Morrowind. I may well have played several people's shares of Morrowind. My greatest claim to internet fame comes from playing Morrowind.

Ehh… Google Stadia Y/N?

 We're on the same side then, Tim. I don't have Chrome on any OS on any computer I own or operate.
