Meanwhile, to add my two cents, I have played my share of Morrowind. I may well have played several people's shares of Morrowind. My greatest claim to internet fame comes from playing Morrowind.
I was playing some EuIII (my computer can't run EuIV) and everything was fine as I was preparing to declare war on the ottomans at 1406-7 as I usually do (after having taken two other provinces -- you really had to ask which nation I was playing as? come on). Then Naples, who I had a royal marriage with, AND gave them military access to avoid something stupid, declared war on me. Of course I had a bigger fleet, cause I need that to force the ottoman Ai to stay in port (cause in EuIII the mechanic of "lucky nation" along with the "very hard" difficulty I am playing in means they can defeat you when they have 3/5ths of your own fleet, for some bizarre reason
). So I ended up with half of the provinces of Naples, but lost the chance to declare war on the ottomans when I wanted to and have to take a year or two off to lose war exhaustion.
It is now 1411 and the ottomans are being ruined by the timurids and the golden horde, but again the computer ai is bizarre and tends to allow them to negotiate piece for next to nothing (eg one province, when they are decimated and control nothing).
Imagine Skyrim but you share all the enemies, even quest enemies, with everyone else that is playing in your zone/on your server. Someone attacks a mob before you, they get the credit for the kill/drop. Respawns are every few minutes.
I had the opposite problem - it ran fine for the first couple of years I had it and then I booted it up again after a long time and it was unplayable with massive graphics glitches. I even deleted and re-installed the game and that didn't help.Civilization Beyond Earth - never got it fully up and running on my old laptop (couldn't handle the graphics properly), but shiny new laptop gives me the chance to resurrect some games.
It's a solid game. I wish it had gotten an expansion and it's super derivative of regular Civ but I still like the flavor of the game.
Nani? what is it?
I'm sure that it did get an expansion. Something about a rising tide?
Thanks for the correction!Beyond Earth did get an expansion called Rising Tide.
I wrote a game walkthrough that had over a hundred thousand views.
