I finally gave Into The Breach a whirl and man it's fun. It's just like Advance Wars but far less frustrating so far. That may be due to the fact that I am playing on easy mode (I don't think Adavnced Wars lets you tune the difficulty) and therefore crushing the enemy rather than hanging on by a thread. There's some time travel mechanics which are very cool too; it's basically a tactical game version of the movie Edge of Tomorrow.

Euro Truck Simulator 2

Because for some reason it's therapeutic driving random HGVs to random cities with random cargos!
Even in a video game I can't handle driving in the UK.

I wish I could enjoy the trucking simulators but my mind's eye simply cannot grok the reversing and trailer mechanics. Thank Christ I don't need to do it in real life.

Funny thing is it might actually be easier in real life.

Do these simulators have a damage mechanic to show how much total damage caused to other vehicles and various buildings during the trip?

Yes and no. No damage is visually simulated (possibly due to the lower budget of the game, the fact it's non-essential and due to licensing terms), but you do get fined if you collide with cars, and all collisions do damage to your truck or cargo. The more damage you sustain, the lower your ranking at the end of the job and the less you get paid - plus you have to pay repair costs for your truck.

You should click that "whispers" button and make it active. It toggles on and off. Also look at your notifications tab under options. You should check them all. After that, hit "S" to open the social window. At the bottom enter Exile_on_Mainstreet into the invite friend space and click. That should send me an invite and I will then show up listed among your friends in the social window. I should not have to be online for you to invite me and I don't have to actually accept. I will be on later today and will let you know! If I log on while you are in game, you will get a notice.

OK @PhroX your turn. I saw you in game this morning, but you did not respond to my whispers. In game chatting can be fun.

Mordhau, what a waste of money, now realistic medieval combat is meant to be character swinging their weapon in a wide angle, with awfully slow telegraphic motion. The fact that player manipulating the attack speed by adjusting the body positioning and the attack angle is just laughable, it's remind me of learning to do "bunny hop" in early counter strike version, like 1.2 or below.

Yeah, I don't tend to pay attention to chat in PoE - once I get into the rhythm of killing stuff, I just tunnel vision on the action. It doesn't help that the chat window fades pretty quickly after you get a message, so if you're not paying attention at the right moment, you miss it.

Started a Saboteur earlier to try out Mines, as I haven't played them since the rework. Decided pretty quickly I don't like them and switched over to Lightning Trap, and I've breezed through the first 3 Acts. Fun so far, but I'll see how it goes.

I know the feeling. I try to hit enter after intense events to see if I missed an inquires for items I have on sale. :)

The new patch is up! Back to the game then.

You should pick up the mods that let you turn captured enemy pilots to marines and the one that lets you train them (at a price) whilst in your ships. Makes boarding much more viable.
Boarding is so much easier in AP than it was in TC that anything making it even easier would feel like a cheat.

I disagree, in the sense that it has a wide range of ways to attack and block, but they're much too precise and fiddly for a fast-paced multiplayer game. I just tend to roll footman and spam my mousewheel.

Mordhau is about as close to realistic as you can get while still being fun

I do acknowledge it's a very meme arcade game still

Attacks have to be almost telegraphed in order for you to parry...

It does not really make boarding easier though. It just makes it more convenient. The difficulty is still there. You just have easier access to marines to begin with and can train them more comfortably. The cost overall is still the same and so is the time commitment. If anything it's worse because the marines you get this way are bad in terms of stats so you have to pay more for training.

So it's more or less trading extra cash for extra convenience. And some cool roleplay capability.
